Wow, it took a few days to really sink in (insomnia doesn't help) but I just realized something. Its tradition in my family to get candy, even if we no longer live at home. Even when I was in the military I got sweets. But the last two years I didn't. No surprise that this is about the time I started hormones.

But I suddenly get a package from my parents. Not only is it sweets, but the big shocker came from who the box was addressed to. Terra, they actually used my name first and last. They still seem a bit reluctant to talk to me, but they did, they continued the family tradition, and they used my name if only in writing. I'm really hoping this is the first sign of them coming around. 

Congrats, I hope so too.

That's wonderful!

Sometimes it takes a while, especially for family.  And they may still be a bit uncomfortable about it, but they certainly are trying.  It shows their love for you outshines their previous understanding of the world.
