Susan beat me to it by a day since I was on travel, and Meghan was promoted to IRCOP a day early.  We welcome her Chat skills and maturity to a higher level of responsibility.

Meghan, I will adjust your pay records and health plan coverage appropriately.  :)

Congratulations. Just remember, with great power comes great responsibility ;)

And, with no real power, comes no real responsibility either.  It's not like a life or death deal, its only chat or some posting board, its not like its all that important.  If people feel like they should do it, well, swell, more power to them.  But its not real power.

It doesn't feel that way when we are dealing with someone suicidal, tekla.  Virtual or not, we do feel that we are then dealing with a life or death situation.

There is, what I consider a fantastic stat from San Fran, home of the Golden Gate Bridge, the most popular sucicide machine in the world, that over 90%, and let me say that again, because its so key, over 90%, of the people who jump, never make a call, never post on line, never seek out any other opinion.  So, most of the people who do that, never intend to go through with it.

Your grasp of Bayesian logic seems to have failed you this time.

1. What is your point?
2. We aren't in chat for the "90 percent", but the 10 percent that reach out. Hell, I'd be there if it was .00001 percent.

Oh, and Congrats Meghan. I already know how much you rock, I'm glad others are seeing it too.

True. It may virtual, but the people who come to chat in need aren't. I also think a lot of TG people are more comfortable asking for help online.

Thank you everyone. I've been in chat for two years now. I've seen a lot of different people come and go and a lot of people gain something from chat. I look forward to helping with supporting people when they need it :) You all are so great! Meghan
