Hey.
I could do with talking to someone, preferrably a professional of some sort that actually knows something about ->-bleeped-<-.
I've seen psychiatrists and stuff locally, but they haven't got a clue and I'm currently awaiting an appointment with a new counsellor. The NHS takes aggeees though.
I've been looking around for support groups, but there aren't many that I can get to easily. Plus new people scare the crap outta me :P

So yeah, I don't really know where else to go. Maybe if there's like any groups where I can just talk to someone, rather than being a group or whatever, that'd be good.

I live in Buxton by the way. So the easiest city for me to get to is Manchester :)

Cheers

Hiya!

I'm one of the guys who runs MORF, the group for trans guys in Manchester - I just joined the site today and saw your post, so figured this was as good a place to start posting as any. I get what you're saying about not liking new groups of people, but we're a friendly bunch of guys, honest! I'd be happy to meet up with you for a coffee or something, maybe with one of the other guys who runs the group, so you can get to know us a bit before coming along if you like. We meet on the fourth Monday of the month, and have a different topic at every meeting. We have a website with details of all the meetings on it as well.

Let me know if you want to know any more, and if I can help in any way I'll be happy to!

:)

Hi flameboy. As an old Warrington girl (girl now girl then girl always) I was so delighted by your group's name that I checked out the MORF webpage. It sounds as if Gizzy has hit paydirt there. So good.

May I just say, I've never heard the term FTU/female to unknown, but I think it's a good one to have. The fluidity of gender should be able to find a myriad of forms and non-forms. Oops, I'm beginning to sound like an old hippie.

Thanks minniemouse!

We do try to be as inclusive as we possibly can - most of the guys who come along ID as FTM, but I guess that's always likely to be the case. Oh, and there's nothing wrong with being an old hippy btw ;) I guess you're not in Warrington any more then?

Hey, would just like to say thanks for the replies and that.
MORF sounds pretty awesome actually, although I'm not sure I have the guts to go, haha.

Gizzy - our next meeting, on Monday 25th May (Bank Holiday Monday) is open to SOFFAs (significant others, family, friends and allies) as well, so you could bring a friend or someone with you if you want.

Also, I really do mean that if you want to hook up for a coffee or something sometime I'd be happy to meet you somewhere - that way, you'd at least know me before coming along to a meeting.

PM me if you want to meet up or anything and we'll sort something out mate!

:)
