Oh I know it is!  Let's just put it this way... I was one of the chronically bullied kids as a child, so I have a tendency to see the worst in peoples statements and only later realize they could have positive connotations as well ^^.

Yah, I'd prefer to be rid of the fringe too, but my forehead is the biggest giveaway for me... so bleh :(

Have you tried a sideswept fringe?  It might give your hair a little bit of an edge.

If you're determined to keep that fringe(it's what I do with my hair, actually--it's very in) then you need to get longer hair, I think.  I think at that length, it gets a little helmet headed.  Most girls I know with hair at that length are doing the sideswept bangs.  For good reason I think.

I'll jump into a bit that was discussed in the 'middle' of this thread.

I also am leery of pierced ears and found an excellent solution...Hobby Lobby (or any other store that sells craft supplies)

I found gold and silver clip-on gizmo...see:
http://www.craftsetc.com/store/item.aspx?ItemId=97869&dep=85&cat=20&subcat=5&Search=Y

I buy any dangly earring and take it apart to attach to the clip-on and make some nice clip-ons out of pierced earrings

Always...Teree
BTW...you look great!

This is my basic attempt, without makeup.  Wondering what things I can do
to improve on it to give a better chance at passing in public.

If someone is questioning whether these are pics of me, then here is the boy mode....

Looks to me like all you gotta do is, throw on a wig and a dress,
smear on a little lip stick and eyeliner and your out the door...

All I got to say is, Ihachu Ihachu Ihachu Ihachu...

Won't you be my neighbor?" - Fred Rogers

You look good you really do so you can be grateful as others have a much harder time of it. Having said that looking good and actually passing are two different things. As one person said in here a lot of it is attitude and I would add experience.

After all that I still have to say you can be looking good and carrying yourself o so wonderfully and still some is going to take one look at you and know there always that person.

You have a great foundation to start with so I don't think it will be to painful.

Also as some one else said every bit you can add to what you have will help towards passing so I would consider my original response to your first post asking for advice.

Hugs

My suggestion: earings.
Possibly a necklace too.
Accessories do wonders for an extra touch of femininity.

You probably won't get kicked out of bed for eating cookies. But I'd pierce my ears and get some small hoop or tear drop shaped earrings. And get some bracelets too.

You have a really good foundation to start with. Very fortunate.

No advice, just a comment. You look nice as an androgynous boy but MUCH better as a cute girl. Woman. Female. (Hope you don't take that the wrong way.)

Heather Rose:

Hi. Here goes.

Your hair looks great with the bangs, and your face is naturally beautiful. There are expectations out in the world about how we women look. That being the case, I think the following might help or at least would be worth experimenting with:
Definitely use some natural looking (dark and light browns) eye shadow (maybe experiment with some hues of gray - I'm not sure), a little bit of highlight around the eyes with eyeliner (not too thick), a touch of black mascara, light makeup to fill in any pores that we can't see in the photo, but from my experience are there, a little light pink blush, and especially some lipstick. That you'll have to match up with your skin (obviously true for all the makeup), but I suspect that you don't want to use into any deep colors (stay away from wine and bright red). Maybe a very light pink, almost the color of your lips but with a 'deeper' hue and get a little shine on the lips with some lightly glossed lipstick.

Will you please post the next set after you do whatever you do? I'd love to see it!
Hugs,
Janine

Congrats at the hard work you are putting into this. Being a golfer, it reminds me of the behind the scenes work that even Tiger Woods does to make it look so easy on a Sunday.

What I notice most about the differences in the photographs is how your joy about your natural feminine self jumps out at us. You seem to have a real heartfelt smile. Your boy mode pic looks a person playing a role that not quite right. Maybe your natural female happiness and authenticity emerged with those first photos and let some to a erroneous conclusion.

As far as impovements, I think you are doing just fine. You might find it alot of fun and helpful to go get a professoinal makeover. It may give you some new tips or insughts. Besides this, I would say that removing facial hair by electro or lasar early in anyones transition is really key. Smooth skin helps not only our passability, but also improves our youthful appearance.

Good luck!

You look good as a guy but you look terrific as a woman. You are one more lady I would love running into someday. sigh
