Label time again. In the corner of the blogosphere I keep track of, there has been discussion recently about what transgender means and whom the term includes, about who is transsexual, about whether trans women are just women, about whether one ever stops being trans, about whether that requires genitoplasty or not, and more. I'm not sure, but I might have contributed to it with my post "Ain't I a woman? I say "discussion," but some of it has been in the form of pronouncements. Some of the discussion has even led to attacks on people I care about, which doesn't sit well with me. I don't think anyone should be attacked for stating an opinion, even if it's controversial.
