I'm looking trying to keep my transition going full speed ahead.... Now that Im working again Im nolonger going to be in that bad financial situation.... And Im currently staying with my parrents. <though I want to get out asap> which allows me to save far more than I otherwise would be able to.
I want FFS..... I mean really want it...  Its quite expensive especialy here in the states though. At the same time Im terrified of traveling alone across the ocean to Thiland....

I beleave it was Buffy that pointed me in this direction but Im looking into Dr. Lázaro Cárdenas Camarena in Guadalahara. You have to join a yahoo group to take a look at any of his work. but his website is  http://cardenas-plasticsurgery.com/    it does have a link to the yahoo group. I have friends that travle there regularly and can probably get a free place to stay while Im there...

I'm alittle ignorant on whats what in surgery as in terms for what.  And at the same time Im trying to find more examples of his work...  I was wonderinf if anyone knew anything more aobut him than whats allready on his site or on that group....  Or if there were any other options available.  *sigh*

At his prices I could easely afford to have what I want done by the time I either have the PTO/UTO saved up or requallify for medical leave.

Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated.  *Hugs*  and thanks in advance.

Lynn,

FFS is facial work right?  What in the world do you need done to your face?  I think that your face is very pretty!  Most of us would die to have a face like yours! If you really decide that it must be done, it could be left as the last thing.  I think that as you go through the change, your face can change quite a bit as the girl fat repositions itself.   I would suggest you wait and see on that particular aspect.

Now with that said... you need to do what you want to do.  Consider the potential risks of the surgery.  No matter where you have it, it may be worth your while to have a consultation here in the US to find out what those risks are and just what you might gain from the procedure.

Now, my advice is free and worth every penny.  I only throw the ideas out there.  You can catch whichever ones you want. :-*

I'm with Cindi on this one,  Lynn.  Your face is already very feminine-looking, and as I understand it, you have only been on hormones for a little while, am I correct?  Most doctors recommend that you wait at least two years to experience the full benefits of HRT; so in my opinion, if you already look this feminine in just a few months, my guess is that you will look spectacular in two years, but again this is only what I think, it is not a Tinkerbell's law or anything of that sort.

I really don't want to discourage you, Lynn; after all this is your call...but I wish you considered the possibilities, which are many by the way...

No, I'd never heard of Dr. Cardenas prior to your post, but it never hurts finding out his experience and qualifications as a plastic surgeon.  Ask plenty of questions, no matter how naive the questions may sound...we always have to ask, ask, and ask... ;)

A friend of mine just went to that Dr. to get breast implants and she is very happy with the work.  She has an explanation about some of her experience on the sacgender.org website under general discussion.

:D  thanks for the posts and comments.....

Soon as I figure out this scanner I can show you all what my face looks like at 6months HRT.... bigger diffrence....

Its just some little minor things I want... need corrected.  Im not going to go all drastic or anything.  All I want is to have my brow ridge knocked down some and my chin and jawline rounded/softened somewhat.... and a trachial shave  *Shrugs*  Its not so I will pass better.
Its more so I get rid of what really bothers me about my looks...  And though 2 years of HRT will make a huge diffrence it will never change that bone structure and Ittle still more than bother me so Id rather like get rid of the problem as soon as possable....

But at the same time I dont want to jump into it uneducated either... I want to pick my surgon carefuly.... but ballance it with my financial situation.  If Dr. Cárdenas  is as good as some people proclame... and I like his work...  Rather than haveing to wait years before FFS, Id be able to afford it as soon as I requalify for either medical leave or have enough PTO/UTO saved up...  *Again shrugs*

Allmost everyone I know agrees I dont need it to pass..... but passing isnt the issue so Im going for it ASAP.

Thanks again  *Hugs*

Hi Lynn,
I understand your reasons for wanting to do this, but...um what brow ridge? You may be visualizing faults that just aren't there. However, if this is what you must do, then do it. But, you are already a lovely girl.

I can see what Lynn is talking about.  I think she means above the outside of her eyes.  I think it's difficult to see with the particular angle.  Good luck Lynn.  I'm glad you're trying to educate yourself.

I just wanted to mention that I also have a friend who has been to Dr. Cardenas; not for full FFS, but for implants, lips, and a rhinoplasty. She is very pleased with the work and was also quite happy with the facility and the staff. In fact, she has offered to accompany me whenever I manage to raise enough money to go there myself, just so she can visit some of the people she met!

Ive heard nothing but good about Dr. Cardenas.... everywhere I check... seems hes good for everything accept SRS though Im not quite sure about the process he uses for the orchindectomy<I know I got this wrong LoL>.

Anyways with in 6 months... unless Ive got to move out of here due to stress I'll be able to afford the surgerys.... and take a friend with me.  Im going to save enough for plane tickets back and rooms if necicary... Just because you have friends dosnt mean you shouldnt be prepaired.

Lynn,

Do what you want to do. It's about looking the way you want. You are doing the right thing by getting as much info as possible on the doctor.
