The Canadian security check when I left Montreal showed that I do not pass.
In England I passed two times security check as female without problems.
In Montreal the authorities began to ''guess'' my sex. I was first assigned to male officer for security check. Then they saw Ms in my ticket and catched a female officer who first checked using metal detector that I had nothing ''male parts'' down there before she could check me further. In England both times nothing of that happened.

And the Canadian officer said me probably making fun of me: ''Madam you obviously do not like a man checking you''.

In my country, the conservatives are in power, and we copycat the Americans whenever possible.  Never tell that to a Canadian though or they'll go into "Rabble rabble rabble" mode about how proud they are to be Canadian and how dirty Americans are and... y'know what, I kind of hate my countrymen.  Not my country, just the people who occupy it.

Sounds like you were acting suspiciously.  :o

I was not acting differently than in my homecountry or in England. I was dressed same kind. It seems that Canadians use more time checking ''sex'' than analyzing are you going to bring anything dangerous to plane. English officers watched much more to the people's bags and demanded more items to be scanned. And shoes away from all passengers by routine.

You must live in a very strange part of Canada, I've never heard of anyone commenting on the American citizens hygienic routine.  Additionally if you don't pass that well as you indicated in your post, and present a questionable appearance then security is going to look a little harder.

Hate is a pretty strong word, and here's a couple for you... "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

In case passport has F and a person presents as female is totally rude to begin second guess the sex. A little bit civilized behaviour.

NicholeW.

And THAT last post needs to be the last thing said in regard to how well anyone may or may not "pass." The end, please.

Is it possible DarkLady what happened was just a result of the particular people involved? I'm not sure you can really judge a whole country based on a couple security officers.

But what happened was pretty stink.

Now I know I need FFS after I have healed from SRS. Before that I thought that I passed good enough.

my granny was a security officer at Gatwick, very conservative - a lot of them were - because of years on the job looking for anything out of the ordinary.

And what the Canadian law says?
The officers clearly provocate that sex should be determined from genitalia instead of legal documents as in my homecountry the passport marked sex is official and doing like they did in Canada a cause for a compliment.

In case you are not suspected from crime here authorities cannot confirm sex further than from legal ID-paper/passport. It is against the law.

It seems that Canada has not developed much since the days many of my relatives moved there to live without fear. It seems that Harper's goverment is trying to do everything to make Canada more like the USA with disrespect towards progress and civil rights.

And being ''conservative'' is not a valid reason for behaviour like that. Acting without respect towards some group of people is never valid. In Europe we call it discrimination.

I went to your country.

While there, I had a bad experience with a waitress on PMS.

Therefore, everyone in your country has PMS and is not dealing with it well.

The is a thing called identity theft and forged passports.  The police do profile no matter what the law describes.

The last time I passed the Canadian border the Border guard asked me if I owned a gun. I said yes but I did not have it with me.  They pulled me to the side and inspected my car. It comes down to personalities of the guard. If he likes you, you pass, if not they play their game. Some people just rub them in a bad way.

It is hard to cry discrimination on every dirty look.

When I got attacked a couple of weeks ago, the male police men and EMTs came about first. They were very polite and called a female police woman and EMT to question me further. Then they let me go home after hauling the attackers away. The EMTs wanted me to get checked out at the hospital, but I declined

There are countries (You didn't mention your country) whose residents are closely scrutinized when they attempt to enter Canada, probably no fault of yours, but still it's a fact of life these days when traveling by air to foreign countries.

Mr Harper would like to make us more like the U.S. but lucky for us Liberal types the Conservatives are in a minority position till the next election so it is highly unlikely he would succeed.

If you feel so strongly that you were discriminated against then you should file a complaint with the Human Rights Commission.
