How many weeks until you started noticing anything with HRT?

Now granted, I was on a low dose, but she just upped it yesterday and aside from the relief at being on T, there has been no change at all.
I'm not even hornier.
That's okay, I'm just hoping I don't have androgen insensitivity or something.
Someone tell me I'm worrying for nothing.

i could tell you that but i could possibly be prevaricating. i've only been hrt (if you want to call it that since it's only premarin) for about three weeks, and i haven't really noticed any changes that hadn't already started when i lost my wife. i want to give it a few months before i start complainig, but since i'm not on anything else like t blockers, i'm afraid i'm gonna ending up looking completely like a bloke in a dress, and thats not what i want. give it another month or two and see what happens, up here i don't have many options.

Ok, I'm worrying for nothing. I've had a ton of tests done last year, tons of gyno and even ultrasounds, if I had some kind of androgen insensitive problem I'd know.
I just hear people talk about all these immediate changes like being hornier and stuff and it hasn't happened. But I do tend to get hypochondrial with my body.

On the other hand, I have noticed some feeling in my tits that isn't usually there, some sort of tenderness or twitchy feeling. Maybe they know they're facing the block.

You are worrying for nothing!

Nero, I'm sorry hon, but I really can't help you here, because your experience on T will be much different than mine on E.  BUT!  All of this takes time.

It is not like "Rocky Horror" in the song "In 7 Days I Can Make You a Man!".

The subtle, interior changes happen first.  And maybe your agitation and irritability may be the first signs of your masculinization.  I know that I was a bit hyper while I went through my first puberty.  But I really can't say.

Much more than likely you are not AIS.  Give it a couple more weeks and if nothing really appears to be happening, give the endo a call.

Also with your top surgery just a little bit away, you may be experiencing a bit higher stress level.  I always did.

My voice was the first thing to change but I already had a very deep voice to start with. That was within the first month. The horny thing started pretty quickly too, within the first few months although I do know some guys who have been on T for around a year and they never got the raised libido at all. It does seem to vary a lot from person to person so I wouldn't worry. I've been on T for about 2 years now and the "urges" do get less as your body gets used to it. How long have you been on T now Nero? Sorry but I haven't been on Susan's much recently and didn't even know you had started on it mate. Congratulations  ;)

Just enjoy the fact you are getting to where you want to be and don't worry too much about how it is affecting you, it'll come in time.

I am on what a lot of folks consider the "standard" dose, by injection. I, too, wondered whether I was responding to the T.

I had a very low T level before I started HRT, and I had a very low sex drive. So perhaps my changes were dramatic. I don't know. But I started getting a weird twitching and tingling "down there" a few days in. On day five, I was ready to hump anything that moved. During the first week, my throat tickled a lot. Pretty quickly, my voice went down just a little bit, enough to reassure me that I wasn't insensitive to T. That happened before a month was up, but I don't recall exactly when.

A lot of guys worry during the first few weeks or a month. Not much you can do but post your worries here--and wait.

It was, as I recall, roughly 2 weeks before my voice really started to change. It sounded scratchy after the first week, but I didn't hear a distinct change until it'd been a month. Sex drive took 2-4 weeks to really go nuts.

You shouldn't be worried, dude. You started on a 1/4 dose, and I highly doubt that would do anything. I think those of us who had more dramatic results from the start had that experience because we started on a full dose. Changes will come, as I've told every other guy on here who's started T and worried he'd see nothing change. Just wait.

my throat did hurt the first week, but the endo said it had nothing to do with the T. however, you're the second guy who told me his throat also hurt, so maybe there's something to it.
it does feel a little strange down there. sex drive is the same as always which is pretty high. so maybe it's just that it isn't going to dramatically go up, since it's already pretty high. i always heard about this huge, dramatic rise in libido, so when it didn't, I wondered.

Yeah, I was never a Don Juan, so my libido couldn't really go anywhere but up.

My throat really drove me crazy. Other guys here in town had told me about the tickly, scratchy thing, so I knew what it was. I'm surprised that your endo said it's definitely not related to T. I mean, it might not be, but I would get that tickling for several days or a week right before my voice dropped again. Every time.

So I'm quite disappointed that my throat isn't tickly right now. I wanna sound like Darth Vader!!!!!!!!

Y'know, I also feared androgen insensitivity at first...

About how long it takes for changes... *thinks*  I believe the first thing I really noticed was my voice.  After about a week I noticed I couldn't make sounds as high as I could before.  Before starting T, I did a couple voice recordings of me humming my entire range from low to high.  After a week, I couldn't do the highest sounds; my voice just stopped and nothing came out.  My throat was also tight--not sore per se, but just... tense.  After a few more weeks, I noticed I was able to hum deeper than before T.  But these small changes were only something I'd notice because they happened at the extreme ends of my voice.  It took 7 weeks for other people to notice a definite change in my speaking voice.  It took 14 weeks to be 'sirred' on the phone.

As for libido, I really did not experience much of an increase at all.  I was expecting something so intense and powerful that I would want to jack off several times a day (like when I went through puberty the first time :icon_redface:  ;D).  But that didn't happen; my libido has pretty much stayed the same, though it has always been fairly high (how does one measure such a thing, anyways?).  I will say that the little guy did grow a surprising amount in only a week, though (to a bit less than 1/4" in diameter; no real change in length).

Apart from that, the first week (heck, the first few weeks) was pretty uneventful.  I noticed more energy in the first week, too, but that could've just been psychological.  I started on the "standard" dose right away, just for reference.

Hell, it was at least two months before I noticed anything - my acne started to clear up. Three months on and I had beautiful skin.

I've only been on T 2 days longer than you have, Nero, and I've been wondering the same thing.  It seems to me that there have been some subtle changes, but they could just as easily be in my head.

Right away I got that "tightness" in the throat.  Just in the past week I've noticed a definite difference in my singing range, but only at the extremes, and I find myself speaking more often at the lower end of my usual range - keeping the "morning voice" sound for a longer period of the day.  The "little guy" has been a little over-sensitive, but I haven't noticed any particular change in libido, or size.  No massive increase in appetite, though I find myself craving salty things more than sweet things now.  I think I'm getting a little stronger.  At times it seems as if my eyebrows may be slightly bushier, and my wrists a little wider.  My shoes seem a little tighter.  But, like I say, all these things could be in my head.  *shrugs*

I have been on a low dose for 6 weeks, I think this may be week 7. I go to the Dr. Wednesday and am hoping to go to fulldose. (Was off at Legoland (what a blast) last week with the kids so I could have started last week if I had been around). I had not noticed a voice change at all but my sister in law called and she didn't think it was me. I think it's harder because I am not sure if I would notice it.  I did take a short voice video at one month so I ca compare it to month 2 and so on. But my throat did start hurting right away and the libido, tiredness and hunger all hit I think it was last week or the week before can't remember now but all seemed to be within 48 hours. It will be interesting to see what happens on the higher dose.
