Hello--
I am a newcomer to these forums, but not to Susan's Place.  I have found it to be a very reliable source of information, resources and links dealing with
transgender relevant issues and topics.

I am an over 50 male to female transsexual who is stuck in limbo.  I completed my legal name change (simultaneously changed first, middle and last) in September 2006.  In order to launch feminizing HRT I must first move to another state.  Such a move is a definite challenge because I am disabled,
and living on SS Disability and SSI, etc.  Still, I do not see it as impossible.

I am curious -- Are there any state Medicaid programs that don't totally reject the unique health care needs of transsexuals?

Welcome, LadyArwen.

I don't know anything about state Medicaid.  I thought I'd have to pay for my HRT but so far the insurance picked it up with the usual small co-pay.  I'm afraid of looking into it too closely, feeling I should leave well-enough alone.

Good luck to you.  I hope you can find the help you need.
