I don't know what I'll do. My mother has passed on, and my children have never done anything for me on Mother's Day. At least I can go to church and get a flower for being a mother.

Given a statement like this - from an English ABD type, so I can be pretty sure that what is says is exactly what it means to say - is it worse to be the kid with a mom like that, or the mom with a kid like that?

My mom lost her memory and only has a vocabulary of about 10 words. She does not know me. So I will be going to the local arts festival around the court house square Sunday.

My Mom has been gone for about 5 years now.  But I might just take myself out for dinner.

  My Mum passed away back in 2001. She never really got to know Wendy or understand her. So in some ways I don't think of Mothers day any more.We where never very close too each other

My Mum died last December, totally demented. I'll have breafast and think of her. Then put one foot in front of the other and keep going. I'll try and buy some cheap left over flowers on Monday for the lounge!!!

I'm taking my Mom out for dinner.  I forgot to get her a card and present, though, so I'll have to get up early so I can do that.    I'm usually better about that, but I just can't seem to get my act together lately.  Hmmmm.  Maybe there is a link between Testosterone and forgetting holidays ...

I was just thinking on the funny side of this If I had kids I would get a fathers day card and a mother day card to . :laugh:Come on you have to see the funny side of things now and then 

I'm going to plant the veggy garden. There's an old wives tale here about planting on or after mother's day. Mom's here so we can help each other. I have some cute sandals for garden work. Gardening in heels does'nt work well. Beleive me, I tried it.

No, actually since my older brother and I and roomies, he's inviting that witch over and she and I have agreed to discuss a solution to our 5 year lack of communication due to her booting me out of her house when I was 15.
I'm planning a picnic.
A colorful salad with the main greens being baby spinach and cilantro.
A variety of sausages and grilled poultry.
Honey/cinnamin rice balls for desert.

All good to go with a choice bottle of chilled white wine.

Me and my dad are cooking my mom breakfast. Not a lot but she likes having breakfast in bed. I'll probably do some chores tonight so there's not a bunch in the morning

I'm not sure. Probably just a card. She doesn't like Mother's day much anymore.
