Something else I have learned is that a womans waist is something quite different to a mans waist. As a man I wear all my pants just below the tops of my hip bones. For me that is my waist, and my natural little pot sits just ontop. It is what my pants measurments refer to when they list a waist measurement. For womens clothing a lot of things feel unnaturaly high to me and a lot of the tops seem quite short, but only because you tend to position your 'waist' higher up at your true waist or sitting just above your hip bones. Of course I don't have much to hang clothing off in that area. Fortunately I don't have a flat bum or skirts would probably just slide right off me.
