After years of focusing on gays and lesbians with its protests, the Westboro Baptist Church has a new target — the Jewish community.

The Topeka, Kan.-based church, which features the slogan "God Hates ->-bleeped-<-s," protested at three Jewish sites in Washington, D.C., on May 8. The protests are part of a series of upcoming rallies that will bring members of the church to Jewish community institutions in Omaha, St. Louis, South Florida and Providence in the next few weeks, according to the church's Web site and fliers the group is distributing that list scheduled protests and proclaim "Jews Killed the Lord Jesus."

Correct me if I am wrong, but Jesus died during Roman governorship of Judea and was crucified by the authorities who were Roman. Sounds more like Italians killed Jesus?

So is Phelps releasing a new Westwood edition of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion?

Italians killed Jesus?  LOL  Well at least once a week, but that's another whole discussion.

FWIW, Yes Jesus was crucified, which was a Roman form of execution.  However, it was at the Jew's request.  The problem with this whole line of thinking is that, in Christian theology, it does not matter.  Jesus was crucified for the transgressions of each person who ever sinned.  So, if they want to harass the culprit, they better look in the mirror and begin to picket themselves.

I always thought the gays were just a sideshow, now there getting back to the real biz. 

Besides, was not Jesus sent to die in fullfillment of the scriptures?  Yeah.  Thought so.

And, for the record, that method of death was a Roman punishment (very Roman) reserved for people considered 'an enemy of the state' which in Rome, was a lot of people.

Seems they have a problem with everyone, so why not.  I always thought they better be praying that I'm right and there is no Jesus waiting for them on Judgement Day, because if he is there, he's not going to be happy with what they have done in his name.

Religious folks behaving like militants? What a surprise

Fred Phelps is mentally ill.  Before he started his hate mongering he was beating his kids to a pulp.  One of his sons told about a typical beating where Phelps kept beating he and his brother until his brother passed out.  Their mom then took him to a sink to bring him to so he would be conscious for more beatings.

Maybe what the authorities should do is issue mental health tests for anyone applying for a position that would put them in power, religious authorities included.  And if they argue separation of church and state, then tell them to stop campaigning for their agendas and contributing to politicians.  And we can also take away their authority to legally marry if they want total separation of church and state.

Well, I have to admit that they've set their sights on a bit larger group this time.

Perhaps they can join forces with those in Iran who deny that the holocaust ever took place.

The 'reverend?' Phelps is, indeed, mentally ill.  He is described by his daughter (who left the family cult) as a rage-aholic who took his anger out on his children initially before focusing on primarily GLBT's. He was a lawyer in Kansas until he was stripped of his license because he was too unstable to practice law. 

Looks like he's not getting enough coverage on his anti-gay activities so he's switching to Jews in hopes of regaining the media spotlight.  The man actual revels in being the center of attention so, perhaps, the best thing to do is not give him that attention.

There's a very good (and very disturbing) documentary about him and his 'church' called "Fall From Grace" if you want to learn more about this group. 

Of course they did, lol.  Really, is anyone surprised?

This should be good to watch.

They should make it an official comedy and go after Scientology though.

It's people like Phelps who bring disrepute to Jesus and Christianity. It's no wonder that many in the LGBT community want nothing to do with Jesus, church, and the bible.

They made a mistake here. Once the Jewish Bankers start bankrolling the Gay Agenda, Phelps is Ph....screwed.
