I grew  up in the days of old, when most women wore pantyhose, with a dress or even slacks.I noticed that trend has been fading for some time.I was just shopping at the supermarket and they always carried leggs.I loved leggs brand, but they were completely gone!wiped off the shelves.I bought the supermarket brand, they are ok,At least i have something to wear with a dress.I mean i have gotten compliments that i have nice legs even without pantyhose but i just feel naked without them when i go out.

I love hose, not necessarily pantyhose, as they are often tight in the nether regions.

I suspect it was random chance -- your supermarket must have had a run on L'eggs.

(*ducks*)

Apparently L'eggs is alive and well; http://www.leggs.com/ gives a list of chains and web sites that carry them.

Could be related to the economic problems. I know my supermarket is occasionally out of all sorts of things that you'd expect to be staples. For example, they've been out of skim milk for two weekends in a row, for Heaven's sake! I don't know whether my local market carries L'eggs, but they do have an extensive pantyhose/stocking aisle. Alas, I'm closeted, so I don't buy pantyhose in my local supermarket, or even stop to check out their displays. I just push my cart past them. Slowly!

I think you're right about women not wearing pantyhose as often as they used to. But let's face it, pantyhose are a drag to deal with (sorry!), particularly in the rest room. And it's kind of silly to wear them under slacks, and downright insane to wear them under jeans. Knee-highs or thigh-highs are so much easier. They're just not as much fun. Sigh!

Incidentally, I grew up in the days before pantyhose, when girls wore stockings and garterbelts (or girdles). Pantyhose became popular about the same time as miniskirts, for some reason.  :D

I find that teh supermarket can be a good place to buy pantyhose if you are careful.  Since they tend to be quite busy, you have to know what you are after.  Just snatch it up, and put it in the cart.  If you are self concious about it, use other items to cover them until you get to the checkout.

Place the pantyhose on the counter along with everything else, and wait for the cashier to do their job.   They probably wont pay too much attention to what they are checking out anyway.

Sometimes when I "need" pantyhose, I go to the store and get some other random stuff that I also could use, and just slide the hose right in there.  I must be getting bold, because I sometimes will sneak packs of Hanes Her Way panties and pantyhose into the cart while shopping with my wife.  When we get to the counter I place the items on the belt, and pay attention to which bags they are packed in.  The trick is to get them before she notices.

I'm not worried about the cashier; I have plenty of experience dealing with them.

My fear is that I'll run into one of my neighbors. I'm not married or attached, so they'll almost certainly ask why I'm buying pantyhose. Or in my case, opaque tights. My legs are kinda hairy, and I rarely shave them (partly to avoid outing myself, and partly just general laziness).

Wow! You must like living dangerously! Or maybe you're secretly hoping you'll slip up and she'll catch you?

As for me. I pay what and where I want.  Of course, I am full time.  And any woman will just buy what they need or want.

I do remember that my ex wanted me to buy her, her pads and it was not a comfortable situation, but it is funny I buy them now for me and think nothing about it.

Interesting, I've noted that too.  A lot in the last few months.

It is a late night, and I am wearing pantyhose under athletic short pants because it is rather chilly to bike. I run and bike usually at night. Pantyhose warms my legs a little bit.

In my country (S. Korea), the quality of pantyhose is indeed excellent (endurable and tight). What I am wearing now is actullay from the U.S. (Walmart or Target). As several seams already opened, I wear it at night while exercising.

For fashion outdoors, I wear new pantyhoses purchased here. Nobody cares about my purchasing stockings here. Cashiers are always kind to me. And the quality and sense of touch is indeed nice and they cost usually less than US $4. No seam has opened so far.

Regarding panthhoses, my only wish is to wear my fishnet stockings outdoors. I tried them only in my room. Sigh... I have never seen any woman wear fishnet stockings in my country, although they are sold here. If I see one, I will wear it outdoors.

Just do it.
