Within the last week I have just discovered Susan's Place and I decided to sign on.  I was in the chat room a few times and I really liked it.

I am a 44 year old, married crossdresser with two children and a tolerant / supportive wife.  My children are unaware of my need to dress.

I tend to dress more in the summer and then less so throughout the year but that seems to be changing a little bit.

About 10 days ago I decided to have my first ever makeover.  This included a manicure, pedicure, make-up application and hair style.  It was a wonderful experience! I was going to go out of town on my own for a few days but I decided to ask my wife along.  She, surprisingly, agreed.  Grandma watched the kids and away we went.  I had a blast.  However, at the end of the time, my wife discovered that she had a more difficult time with me being dressed for such an extended time.  We went shopping, and out to eat together each night.  I even went swimming in the hotel pool with her (in my pinkish one-piece!)  We had a good discussion and talked about limits and what makes her uncomfortable.

Just yesterday, we impulsively decided to go to a Renaissance Faire.  The kids didn't want to go so we went alone.  SHE suggested that I go as Denise and I jumped at the chance!  It was so wonderful to be out in public and be addressed as "ladies" throughout the day.

Those are two recent experiences.  In my spare time I like to garden (vegetable and flower), knit, do digital video work, walk, and play games with my kids.

I look forward to meeting many new people here in the supportive environment of Susan's Place.

Hello Denieseann,

Welcome to Susan's.  I am glad you found this place.  Be sure to check out the Reference Library and the WIKI.  Lots of good information there.  I am sure you will meet many new friends here.  We have lots of knowledgable people who are friendly and helpful.  If you have any questions please feel free to ask.  I have not been to Wisconsin myself, but I have seen the Packers play also.  I am 43 and live in Ohio.  I have to say you are very fortunate to have a supporting wife who understands.  I look forward to reading more postings from you.  Take care and again Welcome!

Hugs,

Welcome to Susan's.

My husband and I went to a Renn Faire in Washington this weekend, too.  Are you an SCA member?

Robyn -

No, I do not belong to the SCA but I am aware of them.  I have seen a few demonstrations.  If I recall correctly, they use modern day materials to make period items.  It seems the Ren. Faire people try to be more periodistic (If that is a word!)

I just go to enjoy the food, atmosphere, quaint shops and the opportunity to dress.

When you say Washington, I assume you mean the state of Washington.

Thanks for the reply.

Welcome  :) I bet the ren fest was really neat. I heard the one in Wisconsin was one of the best. We're all gearing up to go to the one in Ohio in a few weeks. You have to love it.

Greetings and salutations!

Quite an adventure at the Renn Faire, very cool.

I traveled up to WI twice this year (above Green Bay) and both times they used the phrase, "coldest days of the winter" and "coldest days on record" so the next time will be when it is warm out.  LOL.  I cannot take another 125 degrees shift in weather from one location to the next.

Kick back and have some fun here, there are a number of good people on the board with a wide range of experiences.
