Hey, I'm new here but I've got a question for you all.

I ordered from Mango Products back in September and have received absolutely nothing (and I mean nothing - no reply to emails) in return. I paid through paypal and obviously, I've run over the limit of days to dispute the payment. I actually don't WANT to dispute the payment, I would just like the products I ordered.

I have sent them email after email over the last 8 months, threatening legal action in the last few and have gotten nothing in response other than a mass email telling me that they will be closed until July 6 and open July 7 under new management (or was it June?). Anyway, whatever that mass email was, it did not address my problem with them.

I googled them and have seen that their track record as a reliable company has gone down the drain in a big way and I'm extremely discouraged, I cannot find a phone number to contact them either. (If anyone, for some reason has this number, you would be doing me a great service if you would share it, I would like to be able to get in touch with a human being at this company.)

I spent over $200 and am understandably miffed with the total lack of response on their part... they have essentially stolen from me at this moment and I rather not take legal action because it's expensive and a pain in the butt. I'm going to be emailing them every day threatening legal action, copying and pasting the same angry email over and over. I have tried to be calm about this and give them my order info again and I've been left with no other choice.

So if anyone could share what their methods in remedying the Mango issue were (if anyone has), that would be great. I would also like you to recommend a good packer (preferably a good pack and play but they can be separately addressed if nothing comes to mind) and STP that look realistic and go for about the same price range as Mango Products, if you can. I would so appreciate it!

I have a Mango.  Ordered it the first week of September 2008.  Got it around the first week of March 2009.  Slooow, but I did get it (though I ordered silicone tubing and they sent latex--no response to my complaint & request for a silicone tube).  If I were in your situation, I would probably give it 'til July and try to contact the new management--hopefully they'll be more responsive.  There's always the Better Business Bureau, but I don't know if they'll really be able to do much, especially if the business is in the process of changing hands.

As for other STPs, most use the same packer as Mango (a 'soft pack'--try Babeland).  It's just the receptacle that differs among the different 'brands.'  DJ Knows Dick is often mentioned; I know there are others, just cannot remember the names.  If you want to save some cash, you might try making your own with a medicine spoon, some tubing, and a packer (should be cheap, around $15 for a 3 1/2" model).

Hey Eryk, thanks for the info. I've been hearing about the ridiculous waits people have endured more now than ever and I just wish I'd known before I ordered.

I thought it might be best to wait it out but of course, I have my concerns on that one too.

I'll check out Babeland and some tutorials on the receptacle itself. Thanks!

Dear Customers,

Mango Products is undergoing reorganization and will not be accepting new orders starting this week through July 6. We will reopen on Monday July 7 under new management.

Please be assured that all back orders are being filled although it will take time to complete the backlog.

We will try to respond to email messages over the next 5 weeks but this will be on a limited basis until July 7.

When Mango Products re-opens on July 7, new orders will be filled promptly while we continue to fulfill back orders.

We apologize for the delays and inconvenience. We look forward to re-opening and thank you for your patience.

Looks like they just stopped operating under the old management. Sucks, that was a long wait for ya.

Nero, yes, that was the impersonal explanation in an email they sent me. Thanks for posting it here, though, that was the exact message and yeah, it's good that perhaps they'll get on this order at some point.

I guess, more than anything, I'm just terribly disappointed with their conduct and total lack of customer service or explanation, especially in regards to the high repute they had within the community.

It's been a long wait, but hopefully it'll pay off.

yea... I ordered one late december... My room mate actually used her card though/her paypal and I've been trying to get her to call paypal and cancel it for about a few weeks now.... hopefully I can get her to tomorrow even...

I'd rather try my hand at making something along the same lines.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

I ordered once in May 08 and got the product in June 08.  Then I placed an order in Oct. 08 and still haven't received it yet either.  I got excited when I got an email in April 09 stating a shipping label had been printed, but I still haven't received my product.  Several emails to them have gone unanswered.  I got the latest email as well, which I guess is better than nothing, but yeah, I'm pretty pissed.  I have half a mind to take their receptacle, which I like, and find my own manufacturer to make me some and start selling my own STPs.  I'm pissed as well.

Even though that wait is unacceptable, I'd wait till after they reopen. When a company is restructuring things get really cluster->-bleeped-<-ed, so contacting them now would be pointless.

At work we had horrible, horrible problems with our e-mail provider who also hosts our websites. It got to the point where they did nothing so I contacted the BBB and filed a complaint. Let me tell you, when the BBB sent them the complaint they took care of all our problems very quickly. They were stepping & fetching, phoning me constantly for "customer service" and always send me e-mails asking if we're pleased with their service. This was against a big company too. Someone in high management has even personally phoned me a few times. I thought the BBB work help, but I never thought Network Solutions (yeah, I said it >:() would react like that. Anyway, my point is I've had a good experience using the BBB.

I know one guy who ordered from Mango a few months ago got his stuff in a week. I guess that's not the norm. :-\

I'm sure when you get your order depends on what, exactly, you ordered.

My friend ordered my birthday present from there last year. She ordered it the first week of august, October came and I still didn't receive my order and we eventually emailed them got no response and the item was delivered just over a week after. We left it a while because we thought it would take a while to receive the package. (live in the UK)

I wouldn't use them again.

I received the same crappy email and yeah, yet to get my order from Sept/Oct?

I need my Mango!

Mango has a reputation for taking forever and not giving a damn that they do.  You may receive something in about, oh, eight months or you may not.  Next time, research companies before you send them your $$, especially if it's not the kind of product you want your bank knowing that you ordered.
