Two weeks ago, a group of 24 thinkers, activists, and donors (including Juan and Ken) got together to discuss how to reach legal equality faster for LGBT Americans.Dallas-Principles-logo.jpg The result was the creation of a document called The Dallas Principles. It includes a preamble, eight principles, goals, and a call to action.

The essence of The Dallas Principles is very simple: Full LGBT civil rights now. No delay. No excuses.

Zythyra -- Thank you for bringing this encouraging development to our attention.  This is the clearest, fairest, best balanced expression of what is needed and how to move toward it that I have seen in a long time.

I especially am encouraged by the reminder that everyone needs to get actively involved in the campaign for improved GLBT civil rights.  As long as it appears that only a few vocal activists are lobbying for these improvements, elected officials will not act on the community's needs.  A united community, speaking with one voice, will be much more difficult to continue to ignore.

You're welcome LadyArwen! I was also very impressed with this, I've signed the petition and joined the facebook group. I hope lots of people will commit to this.
