From Andy Marra, the Senior Media Strategist at glaadBLOG:

In the wake of KRXQ radio hosts Rob Williams and Arnie States not apologizing for their offensive comments against transgender children, individuals continue to take action and share their concerns with the station.

You can listen to last week's segment here (note from Autumn: No you can't! They took the audio down!) and their follow-up to the controversy here.

For once my cynicism is truly astounded.

That any advertiser would pull their dollars is surprising.  After all there is no such thing as bad publicity.

However it is tempered somewhat by the statements from the advertisers that they are pulling out because they viewed the remarks as child abuse, not abusive of transsexuality.

Regardless, though, they did pull out.  It means that they listened to the complaints and they took positive, swift action!

In short, "money talks." If the bigoted radio hosts don't listen to the people, they will listen to the diminishing revenue.

Maybe their ability to listen will improve while they are standing in the unemployment line

Although the ends justify the means (I guess), I doubt they pulled the ad dollars for moral reasons. More than likely they decided it was bad PR to be associated with the radio station...

I wonder if they would have pulled their support if the attacks didnt mention children...

I suppose any victory is better than none...  :-\
