    WE HAVE FAILED YOU. AS A SHOW, AS PEOPLE, AS BROADCASTERS, WE HAVE SIMPLY FAILED ON ALMOST EVERY LEVEL.

    WE PRESENTED OUR OPINIONS ON A VERY SENSITIVE SUBJECT IN A HATEFUL, CHILDISH AND CRUDE FASHION; AND THEN, GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO RETRACT THOSE REMARKS, WE DEFENDED THEM.

To the degree that ratings sell ads, yes.

Yes, but do you honestly believe that all of the advertisers pulled their ad dollars because of genuine outrage... or was it simply ducking for cover before the fit hits the shan? 

I doubt very much that the Lords of the Bank of America are listening to a Sacramento radio station, so no.

Money is always the bottom line. Do you honestly think they would be doing this if the advertisers had not pulled their dollars?

I don't. Controversy brings ratings. So people bitching means more people listening. It's all about the money and their paychecks. They are going to be paid to say the right things. Deep down their real feelings are known so I don't give a damn what they say on Thursday. A leopard does not change its spots. It can be paid to change what it says though.
