I haven't really done any voice training (except just kind of experimenting on my own), but everyone I talk to on the phone thinks I'm a woman  . It always make me happy. I get called ma'am a lot and even my mom and dad mistook me for my oldest sister, and my step mom thought I was my middle sister.

I never really thought about it before, but I like to practice singing a lot and I guess that's helped me control my voice better.

I always got called "Miss" on the phone, I pretended to object (it was when I worked in a call centre) but it made me feel good inside.  Sometimes still I get called Miss on the phone by people I've never met, however by my family I tend to have them think I'm my father which isn't so nice... so I'm not sure what to do.  I need to work on my voice for sure but...

It would be lucky if I had feminine voice.

Unfortunately, my voice is... the first thing that could reveal I am a dad.

However, there are some exceptions.

When I was in the military service at my 20's, some guys said to me that my voice is strangely 'cute', but they could not express it well.

I do not sing well, but people expect that I am a good singer because of my long hair, symbolizing a kind of rock singer.

When I wear very feminine clothes, people still think I am a lady even after hearing my manly voice. Funny.

I do not practice for feminine voice, but just do not say anything when I wear lipstick and skirt.

Hey listen..... I don't know how many of you have seen the most recent release of Hairspray. John Travolta plays the hefty mother of an overweight teen.  He even sings and dances.

By the end of the film, you are no longer thinking of John Travolta in drag.... he brings a perfect credibility to the role he plays..... and I don't even like him as an actor.

My point of all this is.... your voice frequency is NOT important. It is the feminine pattern of your voice that counts.  It is also worth noting, your demeanor and mannerisms present the total package.  Speak a little softer, figure out what your manly inflections are and replace them with the feminine ones that suit you.

I'm still practising mine. Ironically I already look small and girly but I have quite a deep voice. My singing voice sounds like Jim Morrison of all people. Practise, practise.

A thread of interest, re: "voice training."

I do remembering reading one place where it said that one simple method to try would be to start speaking in Fasletto (I'm assuming REALLY fake female voice) but feel above your adams apple, then slowly start lowering your voice to a more believable tone, all the while trying to keep the area above your adams apple from vibrating too much.  Apparently males use both the upper and lower sections of their vocal cords, where as females only really use the lower... something like that anyway
