Projected Budget?

Tammy Hope

I am so getting ahead of myself here but my mind doesn't turn off sometimes so I'm going to ask anyway.

I'm training for a new job now and it's sales (which I historically suck at but at least it doesn't start commission-only so I have a chance...)

So I'm looking at how I would budget the income (assuming a minimum sales performance/commission) and even that is frankly more than I've ever made before. Enough, I think, that i would be able to afford hair treatments and counseling and eventually HRT.

so here's what I want to ask from you - I know that everyone spends a different amount on these things but if enough of you are willing to tell me what you spend on them, I should be able to get an upper extreme, a lower extreme, and a mean figure. With these I can look ahead and see when I think I'll be able to afford to start these things - assuming the job lasts.

So, if you will, do this for me -Tell me what you spend a MONTH on each of the following (or did while you were doing them if you have finished the hair removal)

if you paid an upfront fee for any of it, divide that feem by the number of months it covered, even if I don't pay monthly I want to know what it works out to per month (though I would appreciate you telling me if it was an upfront cost because I need to know that too)

Too much to ask? i would really appreciate it! I'm sure other newer girls will also benefit from the info.

[copy and paste this if you want and fill in the figures]

Hair Removal: (specify how much for which)
Laser-
Electrolysis-
Counseling-
HRT-
Other*-

(*any "must do" thing other than surgery that I am forgetting)

Please?!!?
Thanks!

Co pay means nothing to me - unless someone can recomend privately purchased insurance that covers GID.

Otherwise, thanks bunches!

Laser- $800 for 6 sessions, on half price sale. Return customer discount $50 per session after the initial 6

Electrolysis- $60/hour (haven't started this phase yet but the lady I know that does it charges this now)

Counseling- $175 hour, but only go once a month now

HRT- $166/month for the drugs, $125 for each endo visit and blood work

Other*- looking at SRS in the neighborhood of $20,000 +-

all this is out of pocket as I am self employed and do not have health insurance other than a bank account I set aside some time ago for this purpose.

they can mark it down as treatment for 'depression' i think.

What did I spend a month?

HRT - Maybe $50-$75
Electrolysis - $80/session, 2-4 times a month
Counseling (if needed) - $75/session but I may not even go in a month

Actually, transition costs outside of surgeries were very manageable.  Surgery added another $42,000 for FFS, BA & GRS.

therapy can definately be set as depression.  That is how my therapist documents it.

on a monthly basis I tend to spend:

electrolysis:  $67/hour (4 hours a month)
therapy:  $33/hour thanks to insurance (I go once a week still but there is a lot going on in my life that is coinciding with the GID)
HRT:  about $30 (my insurance will cover the spiro but not estrogen. go figure)

I hope this helps

Let's see

Laser about $800, at $150 +/- a sesson
Electroylsis:  $60 and hour for 4 hours a month, two hours every two weeks
I'm still doing electro so figure 2-3 years to complete.  It will be three years next jan for me.

Therapy: $125 every two weeks.

HRT about $60-$80 a month, forEstrodol and spiro.

Endocrinolygist and labs every three to six months at oh about $350-400.  No insurance then

SRS and BA  $25,000, done at the same time.

Voice CD's: oh about $60.

Misc.

Nails:  $35 every 3 weeks
Hair salon: $150 every 6-8 weeks, Boy I'm high maintenance.

Being a woman.....PRICELESS!!!!

that's a session every three weeks or so, right?

Also - the return customer discounts TO $50 or BY $50?

Do people normally go more than once a month initially? I was kind of assuming once a month was standard.

How often the endo?

Here's what I am assuming - correct me if I'm wrong:

The Laser is about once every 3-4 weeks in order to get the growth cycle right, right?

So, assuming the income, I'm thinking

Week 1 - Laser
Week 2 - hour or two of Electrolysis
Week 3 - hour or two of Electrolysis
Week 4 - Laser
Repeat cycle for 2-3 years maybe.

that would be 17 cycles a year - 34-68 hours of Electro and 17 sessions of laser a year.

(Laser the face first, Electro the genitals and bikini line and then maybe some hard things like the hair in your ears or whatever - and hope that by the time that's done the face laser will have gotten at least some areas down to the place where you know what the electro needs to address)

Seem rational?

So 4 hours Elkectro @ roughly $75 per a month = $300
I therapy session = about $125
HRT = about $75

Roughly $500 a month in all? And then the Endo ever so often...

Not that I'm cutting off the question - the more response I get the more it will help me and others.

Congratulations on your new job  :)

I sincerly hope it's all it's cracked up to be.

It pushes my "if it's too good to be true" button hard.

On the other hand, I am more highly motivated to make this work than any job I ever had because if it IS what it claims to be, I can not only make enough to transition, but should be able to continue in the same work (albeit maybe out of a different office) on the other side.

yes laser every 3-4 weeks for the reason you mentioned. They will be only $50 per session after I finish the first 6. I don't know about the therapy, I went once a week at first but my therapist has already told me she would write my surgery letter when the time came, so she thinks once a month is enough now.

for the endo, I saw him once intially to get my prescriptions, again after 6 weeks to check hormone levels and not due for another blood test until 6 months. I was paying full price for prescriptions at Walgreens but they now have a discount program for people without insurance so my next refills will be reduced by about a third of what they cost previously.
