How long before you started needing to shave, I mean?

The odd scruffy patch probably about 6 months after starting full dose of T. I still have bits that aren't filled in. My beard doesn't meet my sideburns and my soulpatch is more like a soulscrap.

I've been getting some blonde stubble on my chin and along the jaw-line for the last week or two.  Been on T for about 7 weeks now.  I've been shaving since before I started T, so it's probably a combination of blunted peach fuzz and whiskers. (It's not super-scratchy, but definitely tougher than peach-fuzz alone.)  I find I need to knock it down every 3-4 days for it not to become noticeable in bright light.  Speaking of which, I really do need a shave...

Edit:  For a fair comparison, it occurred to me that I should point out that I come from pretty hairy stock.  My dad's one of those guys who had to shave twice a day, until he gave up and grew a beard.

Lol, I was just going to ask a similar question...  5 months on, and I haven't a single proper hair on my face (not counting the odd blonde ones that will sometimes grow to an inch before I notice... but I had those pre-T).  The peach fuzz at the corners of my lips is growing in a bit thicker, but it's still mostly blonde.  I shave if the mood strikes me... but it's not really necessary at this point.  I will add that my father and grandfather are not particularly hairy men, though they do have facial hair.  But I've never actually seen them really grow it out, and their stubble looks kinda sparse on the cheeks.

Sorry Nero
I'm not hijacking your thread and your sensible question. But, I hate shaving I would totally replace it for having periods. I remember, an Australian artist (painter) who said the same thing in a TV interview, his girl friends replyed, NO WAY, I'd much rather shave every day than have monthly cramps.

Funny Old Life.
And Dude you are sounding heaps better

It's not that bad. If what I had grew into a fantastic beard instead of pubescent tufts of hair I wouldn't bother shaving. :D

I knew once I started shaving that I would have to shave every day...lol I am a hairy monkey.
Well my father has Greek heritage and he and all my brothers are pretty hairy, heck even pre-t and before I started to shave I was hairy.
Well now I have been on T for just over 12 weeks now and I do shave and trust me I need to do it every day.
Although the growth is nowhere near decent enough yet to justify growing anything resembling a decent stache, it's definately noticeable although I sadly cannot perfect the designer stubble look yet which is the one I really want...hahaha

I shave already to keep the peach fuzz off ;)

Pre-T I shaved the peach fuzz off daily.  When I finally started growing something worth shaving, I still shaved daily.  Then, to watch it grow in I shaved weekly.  Now I've got a decent thing happening, though patchy, and I shave monthly.  The last time I shaved was 2 weeks ago when my boss made a comment, hey, when are you going to shave?  It's been two weeks and there is as much on my face now as it took a month before.  Still patchy in areas.

One tip if you're patchy but can see light hairs in the sparse areas: just for men hair color.  You only have to mix up a little (I use 1-2"), brush it on, I wait 20-30min (not the 5), then wash it off in the shower.  Don't do this right before you have to go somewhere, as sometimes it stains the face and takes a bit to get it off.  But it works.  Has to be repeated, but still, it helps darken those pesky fuzz hairs.

I was about 16 when I started to shave.  Just watch the facial hair.  And shave when you think you need to.  It will all come in time.

I was shaving before T... had a light but noticeable mustache at 11, and in the years that followed I had to shave my face every 2 weeks to keep people from being able to tell. By 18 I had hair on my chin as well. So... T just sped up the process. I had sideburns by I think 3 months in, and the hair on my chin and upper lip was much thicker, but I only had to shave about once every 3 days to stay clean-shaven. Now, I have to shave every day, or I have a noticeable 5 o'clock shadow. It's actually quite irritating... so I usually just let it grow out, but living with my folks, I get a lot of flack for that.

Myself

I know guys who didn't need to shave daily until about 18-19.

Some boys might start having facial hair at like age of 14-16 and only need to shave like once a week or two. It can take a few years even for bio boys to get hairy.

When I went to the electrolysis, the cosmetician told me I have less facial hair than some girls she seen.

Some guys around my age that I know still only have a bit at the chin, upper lip and just a few below the hair line at the hairs.

So I know you guys really really want it, but it takes time to build up, can take few years to look somewhat normal and can take years upon years to become the "manly type" and some men, not from this therapy, don't ever get there.

My father is probably an example of that, due my brother is quite hairy. The other - older brother is also not very hairy.
