Well after telling mom and getting the very harsh results after ive finally settled enough to tell the rest of the family. Though to my surprise EVERYONE is beyond supportive and happy, hell my smart-arse aunt said hey il help you go get your first bra! i blushed and smiled, but anywhooo everyone is so happy for me! my entire moms side of the family has been told, now its time to tell my dads side, im jumpy but its inevitable so might aswell get it over with, if some disown me then owell, where i lose 1, i gain 10 more people who care for me. It was comical though, everyone said just ignore your mom she was always a hostile person my uncle made me laugh and feel alot better of the current standing out here of "tell him if my b----- sister kicks him out he can just live with us while transitioning!" my grandma and great grandparents were all as supportive!

Congratulations, Coatl!  ;D

I'm glad for you.  People are funny how they react.  Every time you come out to someone who is supportive makes it easier to come out to the next.  You're on a roll, hon. 8)

I just sent a lengthy letter to one of my sisters(via facebook lol), coming out to her today. I hope I get the same kind of reaction out of her!

Well I got a message back from my sister saying she has unconditional love for me no matter what and supports my decision! She also said that she wasn't TOO shocked and that she has known that I've struggled with something since I was young... I gave her a few links to some transgender resource sites and she said she will read them through before blabbing my ear off!

This is a weird feeling...but I like it  :D

I hope your sister reacts well, I'm sure she will if she is at all like the rest of our family :)

I've got one sister down one more to go and then the big one... the rents!

Congratulations on your courage and sister's reaction.  Line up your supporters as you go - it makes it all a lot easier.  Good luck with the rents! ;)

ok, random update but i have told my sister and dad this week, my dad took it iffy, but his reaction summarized "i will never agree with your choice of lifestyle, i find it wrong in every way, but whatever makes you happy, iw ont disown you and i will always help you if needed. but you will never be anything else than my son to me." so not half bad, couldof been sooooo much worse lol, also my sister took it amazingly well, shes true supportive, its brought us closer together :)

get to tell my stepdad today, scared O.o hehe

Good luck, Coatl.  Let us know how the stepdad takes it.

I think generally the young take it better than the older and friends take it better than family.  It has to do with when they grew up, the length of their history with you, and how close they are to you (plus all sorts of other influences).

Your dad will come around gradually.  It is often a slow process for those around us.  They are going through transition, too, whether they like it or not. :P

(And no, it is not a lifestyle, but you have nothing to gain by pointing that out. ::))

Good luck! ;)
