ok i'm trying to find my size so i can finally buy me a pair of shoes in men's size i'm a 12 for shoes, can anyone help

Hey hun, are you specifically looking for a store in your area? Have you tried online? Are you looking for womens shoes or mens?

Generally, women's sizes are two numbers larger than men's in American sizes.  That would make you a 14, which will be tough to find.  Most stores only carry up to an 11 or 12 women's.  You might try a specialty store that carries odd sizes.  Or try catalog shopping.  Cruise the internet for large sizes.

i have long narrow feet, so i found the opposite of American sizes to be true for me. i use to wear an 11.5-12 in mens, but my feet were never wide enough to fill them. i always figured i'd have trouble finding shoes and spend a fortune, but when i went to ACTUALLY try on shoes at the store, i found a womens size 9 in most every style to be a perfect fit.

my advice? go to the store to actually try them on, BEFORE wasting tons of money. plus when you buy stuff online, they don't want it back after you've worn it.

Not entirely true.

I've bought shoes online from zappos.com and shoebuy.com and both have free shipping both ways. At the time I lacked the courage to go try them on in a store, so I did the mens' size +2 thing, narrowed down some I wanted, and ordered.

It doesn't always work, of course. But free returns, plus usually being able to find a coupon code for another 10-20% off - and shoebuy gives you a frequent shopper discount, i think an extra 10% off within 30 days of a purchase, so you can find some good deals.

Try them on with different types of socks (different thicknesses work for different shoes) and walk around the house on carpet and tile for a while. Sit at the computer with them and see how they breathe and if they're too tight or loose.

A lot of shoes, these days, seem to not really need the breakin period that shoes used to require.

Don't skimp on cost! I teeter totter between real expensive shoes and real cheap shoes and I always suffer for the cheap ones. Even if a $10 pair of clearance boots from wal-mart are my current favorite pair.
