Yesterday I went to Seoul by train on official business. I carried a voluminous bag containing documents and my handy fashion items: trousers, sneakers, stiletto heel, cosmetics and etc. It was a little bit heavy, and indeed became heavy when I walked on stiletto heels.

Probably I walked more than 3 km (about 2 miles) on that day. It was fine in flat land, but I had to perform acrobatic feats in underground passages and subways. My face was wet with sweat, and my makeup get messed up.

Even it was extremely dangerous to go downstairs while carrying the bag. When I arrived in the station to take down my bag in a lounge, I was finally relieved. Without the bag, I could run on stiletto.

When I arrived in the station of my hometown, I immediately put on my sneakers.
Never walk on heels with a heavy bag.

Anyway, a lot of people watched my legs performing acrobatics. In subways, some women at their 50's commented behind me like "So tall. She looks like a basketball player" They even tried to chase me.

Some photos on my stiletto yesterday.

Three Km is a long distance in heels without baggage. I normally carry a large purse with a pair of flats just for those occasions. I feel for you. I have even been known to destroy good pantyhose buy walking without shoes. BTW I love those shoes. I now have to go out a find a pair. Hugs,Gen

Just remember: Beauty knows now pain!

And so many men think women have it easy. I'm glad you made it OK. Now I suggest you spend a week in flats. The stilettos do look fabulous on you, though.

As I recall too much time spent in heels can damage the Achille's Tendon, but we're talking years, not just one tough day. Good going though, that's got to be tough.

Love the heels, Hon.  And your hair cut is really cute, too.

Thanks for comments.

Who invented stilettos?

About 6 years ago, a woman who I guess once loved me recommended me to wear stilettos after looking my photos wearing pumps. She said those pumps look too thick compared with my legs. And I purchased one pair, and finally realized how much painful it is.

Frankly speaking, I want to purchased another pair of stilletto, but they are very expensive or too small for my feet in this country, as few women dare to wear them.

The high heel sandals in my avatar are 4-inch, but surprisingly comfortable. My wife purchased it for me at priceless shoes.

I can't wear heels that are too high. My Achilles would bother me.

I hope they play this music on the train to Seoul:

Thanks, Alyssa for that mujsic. I could play that music, soul train. It seems a 70's music video.

It takes less than 3 hours from my hometown (Busan) to Seoul by highspeed train, and will be shortened to 2 hours in 2012 when the high speed train project is scheduled to be completed. When I was a kid, it took more than 8 hours.

But, it could take more than 2 hours just from my home to the station, especially during rushour. So, I like to ride on traditional train at the station which is near my home and I can walk there within 10 min. It takes longer but I can enjoy rural and oceanic scenery. And, the space is more large and fewer passengers in old trains, and I like to wear a little bit bold fashion items.
If neccessary, I can easily change my clothes in a large bathroom there.

The station near my home:  http://125.247.198.61/bbs/upimg/fishery/20090611_train.jpg

They usually do not play music, but provide TV wiith caption.

That would be the French, Originally designed to pierce through armour and provide a mercy kill to heavily wounded knights.

Of course as for Stiletto heels, that would be designer Roger Vivier (1913–1998).  That's right, a man... someone who (unless he was secretly one of us) never put himself through the kind of torture he thought up.

You look wonderful in them however, I wouldn't dare try it my self.  I wore just plain heels once... my SO has now resigned me to flats only. She said I looked like an Amazon and she didn't like being dwarfed beside me *giggles*

I purchased size 11 pumps online in the U.S. The store has various size 14 women's shoes. I do not remember the site address, but you may search it. If I find the site, I will let you know!

Oh, Thanks for detailed history on stiletto heels.

So, stiletto can be used for a secret weapon. I know that women tend to be more defenseless on heels, but my experience tells that heels do not help protect me from attack by a man. On heels, I could not run faster than a drunken molster. Maybe I can take a course on self-defense by using heels.

Unfortunately hun, that wouldn't work  :-\. A 'stiletto' is a type of dagger, meant for short jabbing through armor. Essentially a knife. The 'stiletto' heel was coined as such because of the really tall and skinny 'point' it has to hold up the shoe. Have fun trying though  :P.

Chaos_Dagger

Yea... I was kinda trying to be funny.  Since unless you specify "Stiletto Heel" it technically means the dagger.  Although you could technically kill someone with a stiletto heel should you hit them hard enough, I would suggest removing them from your feet first however.

I once purchased size 11 pumps at:

http://www.queenfashions.com/

It showes that the store sells size 10-17 footwear.

About five years ago, I tried to purchase 5-inch pumps there. My foot size is US women's 9.5 or 10W, so I ordered size 10. It was too small. I returned it and waited a month to recived size 11. It was still too small. I heard that for >5-inch heels add 2 to your normal shoe size.

Also, I purchased two pairs of 5-inch sandals, because they advertised "buy one, and get another free". Despite their cheap price, they look indeed sexy, and sometimes I wear them in my room.

The prices were never so expensive, but I have never worn those shoes outdoors. Sigh~
Hopefully, this summer...
