AIYAAAAAAA!!!

I'm flippin out.

Someone shoot me.

Christ.

A guy friend of mine asked me to go kayaking with him.  I promised i would.

-insert profanity-

Dude this sucks.

I'd feel more exposed in a bathing suit than I would in lingerie.  I guess because one is more public and the other is just bedroom or modeling stuff.

I'm sure if I spend a good 5 hours shopping I can find something good.  Still.

Crap crap crap.

Someone give me advice.  Or say something to make me feel better.

i'll tell you what my lady does-  two piece bathing suit and a pair of board shorts.  most women hate their thighs.  cling to this excuse and you'll be cool.

UGH I'm not supposed to get all exposed and junk.  It's not right.  It's not proper.  Wtf why am I lecturing on what's proper and what's not now?  How am I supposed to reconcile being in broad daylight with my body exposed and open for the eyes of anyone to goggle at or criticize or fap at or clock me or get their eyes burned at my pale whiteness?

Just murder me.  Murder me in a most painful and gory method that leaves no doubt of the intention of death.

I actually think I have an okay body.  It's what I'm told.  I mean, I KNOW it's alright.  But then this senseless non-logical self doubt kicks in when the thought of being exposed in open space comes to mind.  It's like a panic sets in and I don't want to do it.

if you're kayaking, there's no reason you can't go in shorts & a tshirt, bathing suit underneath.

It's like a kayaking/swimming thing and this guy definitely has things in mind to do, he's made it clear.  I don't mind I just am hung up on the bathing suit.  I feel about it like I feel about mushrooms.  I'm not allergic but I am mentally unable to force myself to put one in my mouth, and if it's done for me I vomit it back up: violently.

Bathing suits are mushrooms.

Bathing suits were mushrooms for me for a while, too.  Even post op, it took my girlfriend being incredibly patient and reassuring me that I looked fine.  Sometimes, you've got to try that exotic mushroom and realize 'Hey, these aren't so bad...'

That I can do.

You don't have MY BODY, looking for a swimsuit.

I can see the smile from here.

;D

So let's make the most of this beautiful day,

Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?" - Fred Rogers

I like mushrooms and you can go kayaking in anything you feel like. In the past I've worn rather loose fitting cotton shirt and pants with a wet suit underneath. As for the guy, make sure he knows were your at and you know were he's at. Set some rules

My 14 yr old daughter this year has chosen a rash guard (Land's End) and female shorts, kind of like board shorts (LL Bean).

Or you can choose a one piece racing suit.  Lots of one piece suits have a bra shelf built in if you need to add something up top.  Another option is one of the skirt bottoms that are popular this year.

I have a one piece and some shorts.  No pool for me at this time, but I do work outside in them for some sun.

Up until last year I kayaked on a regular basis, but alas no more...  I always wore a bikini under shorts and a tee shirt, and invariably took off the shorts at our first stop.   My tee shirt was either off or on depending on how strong the sun was that day as it doesn't take long to get a burn.  Wet tee shirts keep you cool as well, and well if it's a white tee then once it's wet, as it probably will be, there's nothing to hide :)

Delay, stall, string him along, be coy. Just because you promised doesn't mean you will. It certainly doesn't mean you have to -- get that notion out of your head entirely. If a guy manipulates you into promising something you're not comfortable with (regardless whether he was even aware he was doing it), don't ever feel obligated to keep that promise.

Once you realize you don't have to go, you can decide whether you want to go. And maybe you do. Kayaking is fun.

Not really sure why you must have a swimsuit for kayaking, when it comes down to it, swimsuits are simply tight-fitting polyester brightly coloured clothing. I also don't understand the concept of wearing a bikini underneath clothing when you are not going to take your clothing off.

Just wear your normal clothes and bring some dry clothes.

The bikini was a success.

I forgot sunscreen, so I managed to get third degree sunburn and have spent the past week BEDRIDDEN and incapable of WALKING.

Now, isn't that insane?

I'm now a believer of sunscreen.

Yeah, important lesson. I got a blistering sunburn over my whole face that took two weeks to settle down once when I went skiing (in a snowstorm -- but high altitude and late season). That definitely taght me. Hope you feel better.

What kind of suit? I'm currently looking for something that will work for me ... bad experience recently ... definitely need bigger boobs ... :(

Argh!  Found this one too late.

I started out with a two piece, but the top was more like a tank.  It wasn't so revealing that I felt weird, and feminine enough that I didn't feel like I was pretending to be a guy.

I did find a nice one piece at Macy's for this summer.  A sarong tied like a skirt at my waist takes care of the fact that I have some major dysphoria with the lower half of my body.
