Should gay flocks have their own churches?

Three area churches who cater to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Christians are marching in today's Gay Pride parade. Should gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender flocks have their own sanctuaries? Or does the concept of a LGBT congregation encourage an isolation within faith communities that defies the very purpose of assembling for worship?

Opinion: It should not be necessary. However, depending on the community it may be advisable. There may be some backwoods places where an individual would not be safe. The Unitarian Univeralist Church accepts all people regardless fo gender status or sexual orientation. There are other congregations I would not go near while enfemme. Those are numerous.

Opinion: I totally agree with what Genevieve had said. I believe that religion should not be something that separates people, but join people together. However with any churches/temples/places of worship also brings together many different types of people who usually share a common interest/view on their beliefs. Unfortunately in our world still, there are many communities who does not accept LGBT individuals as humans being and as "children of God" like how they are. I have witnessed LGBT Violence committed by normally kind-hearted people. So it would be wise to set up separate churches in those type of communities (like Genevieve had said)...but at the same time, setting up separate churches in those communities might cause more violence.

Should black people have their own churches?
All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.

My own congregation is divided pretty evenly among LGBT, black, Hispanic, and traditional Lutheran members. We have two pastors; the senior pastor is a lesbian, and the associate pastor is a straight male.
