Hello everyone!

As a new girl here I thought I would introduce myself. I'm debra and a mature tv, living in Northampton in the UK. I've been dressing for over 35 years and have recently decided to come out of the closet. I have told my partner about my dressing and we are now talking about it on a regular basis. She still does not understand why I do it, but has not rejected me and still loves me. I'm not wanting to lose my man bits, as I come through the stage of wanting to be fully femme. I do want, however, to express my feminine side and talk about my feelings and dressing.

i do like to make up and have recently taken on a "who cares" attitude to going shopping. I now buy make up, shoes and undies on the high street, although I still hunt around in charity shops for bargains!

Was recommended to the site from a friend on yahoo and have already found the articles and messages as very helpful support to me as I try and emerge from the closet.

Look forward to chatting and talking about expereinces and hopefully helping others through the site.

I'm sure that you will find our site to be a very friendly place to hang out and meeting new people.  As this is a support site for all those who are apart of the TG community you will be able to read and reply to the many issues, hurdles, and experiences we all encounter.  Take advantage of the resources that Susan's offers in the Links section on the main page, the Chat area, the Wiki, our ever expanding library of articles and subjects, and of course here in the forums.  And be sure to read the TOS/Rules as well.

Your story is very similar to many other here, and you will quickly find out that there are many others here who have experienced, or are experiencing, what you are going through now.  So don't be afraid to jump in and ask questions and seek advice.

That "who cares" attitude is a great one to have as well.  Many find it so difficult until they reach that same point and decide that there is nothing wrong with what you are doing so "who cares".  Many of our partners have difficulty trying to understand us, and this is further compounded by the fact that we often don't understand us either.  But, if you plan on staying together, then you must communicate and be honest, and be prepared to make sacrifices and compromises.

Welcome to Susan's you have found a valuable resource and will make some good friends.

I totally agree with everything Steph has said (and not just because she is my boss)... You have a good attitude and knowing what you like and how far you want to go is a bonus.

For the record, I am also English and a 4 year post op MTF TS and now live abroad in the Sun (only going back to the UK to see my family and enjoy the rain).

Welcome to susans. Your ability to buy what you want and need is something very special. It probably felt pretty good to finally talk about it after 35 years of doing it. Yes there are many with similar stories here at susans.

I am a bargain hunter myself. Why  spend 100s when you can find great jewels for 10s.

Its nice to meet you.  Welcome to Susan's.  Be sure to check out the Reference Library and the WIKI.  Lots of good info there.  I do hope you and your partner can reach an understanding.  I too have the "care free" atitude when I go shopping and it feels good.  I also go to the big sales and usually find good bargins.  I'm sure you will be meeting many new friends here.  There are lots of knowledgable people here that are friendly and supportive.  If you have any questions please feel free to ask.  I look forward to reading more from you.  Take care and again welcome!

I think you'll find Susan's has an international flavour.  England, Canada, USA and Australia are where the bulk of our posters hail from, plus a small but hardy contingent of English-is-a-second-language posters.

As you explore this side of your self, you'll be able to share experiences with others who have similar interests.

I haven't been to Northampton yet.  I used to travel to London every few years, and can still find my way around via London Transport.  I can say I've been through Crewe (on my way to the pleasure park at Blackpool,) to Brighton (couldn't get The Who's "5:15" out of my head during the train ride,) and wandered in to a live army field exercise near Dover, plus a few other places on a hit-or-miss basis.  And, being a bit weird, I can't think of a better thing to do on a Sunday afternoon than go to Speakers' Corner and listen to the hecklers.
