So because I am living mainly as a guy still, I am hoping to move into my own place soon so that I can start transitioning a little faster. So, is it a good idea to present myself as a male looking for a place to live and then do everything behind closed doors?? Or should I present myself as a woman, but risk being clocked and not getting the place??

Same with finding work in the early stages: Should I go to the interview as a guy and work as a guy for a bit or just go right into there with the risk of being 'discovered' and, again, losing the chance at a position? Ideally, I would like to pass before I even seek work so I dont have all the "coming out" to do in the process, and I would be happier as a girl at work, but if I can't do it, it ain't gonna happen :(

Well me I started out a new job in early transistion in guy mode.  Then 3 months later came out to my boss.  A scarry time.  But it was time that gave me a chance to transition after I had a job.  It turned out fine in the end.  I sort of wanted to start as female, but at the time I was not ready.

In the end you have to decide whats best for you.

Good luck

Yeah I was thinking of doing that too, since I will probably be only part time to start out with. Business man in a suit by day, woman in sweatpants by night lol. But we'll see how things go.

Most rental companies don't give a hoot as long as you pay in full and on time. Don't have loud parties and really try to pay early. Besides, in big cities, a lot of resident managers are Gay anyway.
