Badnarik cites Ayn Rand as one of his inspirations.  To me, that 'nuff said.  Everyone has certain touchstones, Ayn Rand is one of mine.

That finished the guy for me.  If I could create a virus that would sterilize all randians and make them comatose, I'd do it.

Don't worry, they do it well enough on their own following their goddess example.  That, and for the most part they are too whacked to have a meaningful relationship with other people.

Michelle.

I liked the general theme of Atlas Shrugged. What happens when the "producers" go on strike.

Read it and The Fountainhead once apiece. Way to long to re-read.

Badnarik is also one of those anti-tax nuts. Follow his advice and you'll be doing time along side Bernie.

Rebis, should a "Global Mod" be advocating not-so mass murder?

It's called a general strike, and the last one we had in SF the police shot, two were killed and the Gov had to send in the National Guard.  But of course by 'producers' Rand meant the guys who owned the shipping companies, but they find out real fast that they ain't loading the ships.

Tekla my dear, that was the idea Rand was suggesting.

I think I found a loop hole by saying 'comatose'.  I was aware that I was close to going too far.  I guess I have to have a disclaimer -

"I not now nor ever have had the intelligence to create a virus. Anyone who believes that I want to hurt others is just dreaming and I can prove it by removing their brain, placing it on a table, then lighting it with sparklers. See you in the halls of an institution.

Oh God, I love Seven. Especially before that Jerk Janeway tried to reintegrate her back into humanity.

I think that is my internal view of myself. Which may be a bad thing.

Neither, both sides are unenlightened, on the one side we have crazy religious nutcases and the other side is filled with morons who don't know there asses from a hole in the ground, so yea. I stand on my own views of this world.

Left. We lead 9-1.

Borgs are right-wingers ;D

Check me off as being an "Orwellian". (No, not the distopia from "1984".)
Orwell was a socialist who wanted decency in government. (No, not as in "moral decency".)

Here seems to be lot of wingnut pubs. Why they have not voted here?

Well there was a longer thread on more or less the same notion that I think wound up being mostly "fiscally conservative but socially liberal" which was the Classic East Coast Republican platform before the religious right set up their revival tent in the middle of the big tent.  My guess is that most Americans define themselves that way if I take that as being "I don't want to pay taxes especially to help you, and I don't care what you do as long as I don't have to see it or hear about it."

I would like more Classic East Coast Democrats. Even so called moderate republicans are wingnuts. Genuine catholic left.

You're not supposed to be looking behind the curtain of "Crazy, Broken English"

"I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you,
I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.

So let's make the most of this beautiful day,
Since we're together, we might as well say,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?" - Fred Rogers

Nah, there was a time before Reagan where there were a few moderate Republicans, I can't find them anymore, Mitt perhaps, but they were all but driven out by the ideologues.

Hell I'm old enough to remember when Massachusetts had Republican Senators, Henry Cabot Lodge and  Edward Brooke, one of whom (and not the guy with three names) was African-American.

Thank you Heatherrose.

I had forgotten about that, behind that particular curtain lives a new disorder.

The "shrinks" will be in da money for years.

My guess is that most Americans define themselves that way if I take that as being "I don't want to pay taxes especially to help you, and I don't care what you do as long as I don't have to see it or hear about it."

I couldn't choose one of the poll options.  I identify as libertarian.  Also, there are other political views that would prevent people from choosing an answer to this poll.  I think this crowd should know by now that sometimes things can't be boiled down to a binary, and this binary is even more artificial than the gender binary.

I'd be an anarchistic communist if I believed it would work..
I consider myself to be a democratic socialist simply because of my opinions on the limitations of human nature.

That is an excellent answer.
Here's what I find about compromise--
don't do it if it hurts inside,
'cause either way you're screwed,
eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride
