CAMDEN, N.J., July 13 (UPI) -- Authorities in Camden County, N.J., say they do not know how a 21-year-old Arkansas transgender woman died in a home where voodoo rituals took place.

Central Arkansans react to the death of a 21-year-old Little Rock woman. Lucille Hamilton died during a vodou cleansing ritual in New Jersey. Investigators are trying to determine how it happened. People who know her are now showering love and support for a woman they say did nothing wrong.

"Just completely devastated when we got the news," says Randi Romo.

Romo has known Lucille Hamilton since she was 16 years-old. Lucille was born David, but lived her life as a woman.

Frantic call to 9-1-1: 'She's dead'
