So I have been doing laser for about 7 months have been having good results with it.  however have been going back to chicago, from LA 2 do it.  Recently I found this new place which offers new laser technology that uses the the Soprano, which basically they sweep over your face 15 times, and its pain free mostly, but its suppose to work better then regular laser.  She is running a trial special for like 100 which is pretty cheap till the end of July (but doesnt have many open appointments) and I have an appointment 2morrow.

I was just wondering if anyone else used this type of laser and their experiences from it.  I have asked around and the few that did said good things about it.  So im rather excited.  So if you live in LA you should check it out I can give you the contact info and also will post and let you know if it was really that painfree lol.

I saw a clip about this on the news a couple months ago. they showed a guy getting his back done and they just waved the device over his back and was done. I'm sort of skeptical, but if it works, wow!

Haven't heard about this.  Definitely keep us posted-- about the experience and your after results. 

In Israel our health care service also have beauty centers and they started to use the soprano laser.
It is also supposed to work on light hairs.

I'd think it's a good laser if our biggest health care companies use it in their beauty centers!

I don't know if this is similar or not but last year I had laser surgery on my face and legs to remove major clusters of spider veins. I had 4 sessions and before each session I had to put on a local anasthestic and let me tell you it hurt something fierce. The face wasn't as bad as the legs but it burned and when it hit nerve endings I felt as if tears were streaming down my face. But it worked and I am happy about that.

One can only hope...and hope the price comes down. A quick google search gave me one news article that said the price range started at $450 for a half hour.

It is of course better in the long term though, if one pass gets the job done.

I suppose a laser place really couldn't afford to do in one session what they normally do in 6 or 8 without adjusting the price accordingly, at least until the demand went up (as it surely would if they offered a pain free treatment)

Yeah it is pretty expensive.  Why she is charging 100 for the first sessions which includes 15 sweeps over you face, so that means 15 times your face is done versus regular laser which is only once is beyond me.  And you dont have to purchase any group packages (luckily I found this laser center through a friend that went and said she had amazing results)  I guess its just to build clientle L.A. has so many salons you know.  Considering I have had 6 regular sessions done and my face is pretty good, Im  hoping this soprano session will do it for a while.  Also i start hormones and spiro on the 28!!! so excited.

Well i had it done yesterday and i must say. . . wow. . . i loved the machine and the nurse was extremely sweet.  Bascially they put gel on your face and sweep over you face like 15 times... near the end it does feel a little hot, but not anywhere near the pain you get from regular laser.

Also it literally zapped the hair.  and usually with regular laser (which i've done like 6 sessions of) im left swollen and red for atleast a day and it makes it hard to shave.  but with soprano i was red for about 10 mins and it went away, and there was no hair to shave.  it was crazy.  and my face felt extremly smooth right after (which was never the case with regular laser, as it would take about a week to feel that way)

so all in all I would say if you can afford it try it!

So why is there no hair left?  Wouldn't it be left in the follicle and have to work it's way out like a regular laser? 

Being a couple of months from finishing near full body laser hair removal and finding just how much blond hair i have

It may take a long time. As crazy as it sounds I am biologically female and ive been doing laser hair removal for 3 years and still not much has happened.(I am an ftm, but my mom doesnt care)

why would you laser your face if you're intending on transitioning?

I just said it. I started before I came out, and I told my mom I want to stop, and she said no. I hate it. For a while I pretended that I didnt like having a beard, but I loved it. Maybe Ill try talking her out again.

Well, to satisfy my curiosity I tracked down whether there was a place nearby that used it and contacted them and ask about prices and...well...yikes.

I sure hope the hormones bless me because I'm gonna be a LONG time raising that much money (short of the lottery lol)

I take it you have hirsutism? I remember consulting with a laser consultant before who said they work with women with it, who always have to come back for more treatments, but that it gives temporary relief.

Have you talked to your doctors about the major health implications (ovarian cysts, etc)?

How much did they quote you for?  and what part of the country are you in?  Im in the west coast, socal.  If your anywhere near LA you can get it for like 100 until the 31st then her regular price i think is 150 after that at the laser center i went to.

well it was weird.  i could smell the hair burning, and hear popping kinda like that candy you put on your tongue and it pops. but i didnt really feel any pain, just a little heat after like the 10th time of going over a certain place.  I feel like going over and over, your able to penetrate the follicle and get more of the hair coverage.  and when she wiped the gel that was first applied on my face off after we where done with the laser, I really didnt see any hair.  there where some spots but today i was easly able to shave it-- which was not the case with the other type of laser i would do before as that would take me a week before i wouldnt have some type of shadow.

I'm in Memphis and the price wasn't "per session" it was for the whole course:

Basically, the special is now, buy one area and get the 2nd and 3rd area of equal or lesser value for free...so you can mix and match as you like...for example you might do, purchase your entire back for 2875 and get your face (normally 2100) and your upper or lower legs (1930each) for FREE...that would be pairing them up good.

So...a little over $6,000 to do all I feel like I HAVE to do if I was doing it right now. (not counting lower legs and underarms)

Maybe not a lot for folks who can save some money but it's intimidating to me.
