In Defense of Autumn

Autumn Sandeen used to cull stories for the Transgender News Yahoo Group; she's been blogging for forever, and not long ago became a key poster and moderator at Pam's House Blend.

Recently, people have given her holy hell for shutting down the use of the words cisgender and cissexual because they were being used in the context of an argument that was only estranging members of the LGBT community from each other (& I'm not linking to all the posts about it intentionally as I have done so before and had my say otherwise).

Are people still pissed at Autumn?

Too bad, really.

Sometimes we make mistakes, or do things that we cannot imagine at the time are mistakes and are lambasted for doing so. Then we realize the mistake.

She apologized and went back to blogging and some changes were made at PHB.

That some may hold this or other things against her forever? Well, that's pretty much par for any course one plays.

But, surely these days time on any cross is limited. Isn't it?

Let her down and move along, folks. Nothing more to see here but a contrite and more-careful woman.
