Compromises rev. 3.2
07/23/2009 — Suzan Cooke

http://womenborntranssexual.com/2009/07/23/compromises-rev-3-2/

A few days ago,  before heading off to work, I tossed off a few thoughts that have elicited numerous comments as well as a couple of ad hominem attacks by a couple of other Bloggers.

I stand by my original comments and think they require expanding upon.

I am sick and tired of all the in fighting between people with transsexualism and people with ->-bleeped-<-.  While many of the more reasonable members of both groups have quietly agreed to work together on issues such as hate crimes bill and ENDA,  extremists of both factions are doing their best to keep the horizontal hostility going.

Suzan has written perhaps the most important and certainly one of the most enlightened and absolutely positive approaches to our eternal internal squabbling, bickering and basic eating of one another that I have read yet.

She's a lot of experience and a lot of time spent as a woman working for change and deserves a listen. And some most of us to be willing to follow her lead.

As has been stated before, choose your death -- hanging separately or hanging together. At the least together we might avert death altogether.

Excellent piece, Zythrya, thanks for posting it.

I agree. There's no reason that TS, TG, IS, androgyne, genderqueer, etc., can't work together towards goals that would benefit all of us.

I think in the real world far more people are working together than just reading the internet would make it seem.  Many of these fights are what my friend calls 'blogger basement battles' between people with keyboards but little or no political or social skills, and hence, are not out in the real world working for real change.

As John Lennon said, war is over (if you want it) - and sadly, many do not.  They have their entire persona wrapped up in being some net warrior defending their turf, when, in fact, in many places, everyone else have moved on.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

I agree almost completely with that, Kat. But it would be nice to have some of the web-heroines get that through their cyber-skulls as well. :)
