A 911 call had come in to the 104th Precinct stationhouse reporting that a woman, Hazel Campana, was fighting with her boyfriend, Carlos Berrios.

Campana, a transgendered woman who was born Robert Campana, accused Berrios, who sports a teardrop tattoo under his eye, of stealing her purse.

It had nothing to do with the story whatsoever.  Why even include it?

He's got a tear drop under his eye, she's got a tear drop under her skirt. Obviously both are incredibly relevant to the story.

What do you want from a tabloid like the Daily News?

thats so sad i hate to see policemen die on duty... my ex is going training right now to be one.. even though we are done i never ever ever ever would want this to happen to him and pray it never does...
