So I'm finally getting over myself and doing what I need to do, become a woman! After alot of study and whatnot it seems that even if I'm not on hrt right now, and might not be for a while, the best place to start is getting rid of the damn beard!

But as I've said before in other places I have a lot less money than I would like (who doesn't?) So I was wondering... what's the cheepest option? How often do you have to go? I'd be lucky to scrape together $50 dollars a week without starving. Is it enough? How many sesions can I expect? (I know it depends on a lot of things but how much did it take for you?)

As always thanks in advance for any help, you are all life savers :D

You usually have to wait 6 weeks between each sessions, that's 50*60 = 300$!
Should be more than enough :)

I think you can usually buy packages for cheaper and pay monthly for quite a bit of time :)

Elements Laser in Austin offered $1400 for two years as many times as you need to go, and a 12 month payment plan with no interest.  Lastly after the two year mark touch ups would only be $40 a session.

Look in your area.

Electrolysis is still an option. It's not as fast as lasers but if you can only pay a little bit at a time it's a much easier method to pay-as-you-go. You should be able to find it for less than $50 an hour, and you get to start making progress toward transitioning while on a budget. On a side note, like you because of budget constraints I had my facial hair mostly gone before first seeing my psychiatrist...well, for gender issues anyway. Honestly, I think having done that showed him I was quite serious and informed, and made him less skeptical and more interested in helping me.
