How many times each day do young gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students across the country get bullied, teased, or called names?  What if there was a safer alternative for schooling?  While some may argue that separating the LGBTQ students is a form of segregation, those who have lived a student life of ridicule because of their perceived sexual or gender orientation may just see things differently.

My nieces and nephews were home schooled first then went to an online school. Just their parents preference. I think it is a good idea to be available.

Some cities, SF and NYC have such public schools, which is a good option when there are enough students to fill one.

There are colleges on-line.  Why not high school.  Yes they do not get the interaction with other students, but they also don't get the bulling.

Good idea.

Sad fact is, most of them are often alienated from kids their own age to begin with, and none of this will help.  Often your just postponing the problems and they will have none of the skills/tactics to deal with them when they do (and they will) arise at a later point in life.

And good luck getting people to recognize your on-line degree as being the equivalent of a standing institution - college is about way more then the course of study, or the factoids you pick up, but its largely a social deal having a lot to do with dealing with different people.
