I just got my results back from the lab and discovered that, despite being on a half-dose of T for the last 4 months (almost), my T levels are actually a little high.  I started out with normal female levels.

I was talking to a nurse acquaintance of mine - another trans guy - and he was saying that recent studies have found that lower doses of T can actually produce better, faster results.  Apparently the "normal" dose is actually high enough that, for many trans guys, it starts to estrify.  Anybody else heard similar stories, or have similar experiences?  Just curious.

No similar stories, but this gives me something interesting to think about and a bit of happiness. Even if it wasn't recommended, I was planning on asking to start on a half-dose or low-dose of T to start when I go for it (very wary of doctors, chemicals, etc...). Good to know that even if yours is a rare case, there's some hope of a small dose still being a useful dose.

I think it all depends on the individual.  Frequent testing should help you to know whether a low or high dose is most effective.

I started on a half dose and still experienced all the normal changes, but my period didn't stop until I got on a higher dose

My period did not stop until I went on full dose as well. I think it's different for everyone, changes also just happened a lot faster on full dose. I felt "stuck int the middle" on half doe.

Huhn.  Well, maybe my body just really likes T. My ovaries and adrenal cortex got a sample of the stuff and said, "Woo hoo!  This stuff is good!  Let's make some more!"  ;D
