Well it has been a long time coming...

I officially started seeing a transition therapist yesterday. First time I met her and I think that we are going to have fun together. She has been dealing with transgender issues for over 20 years and we seem to be a good fit.

A little about me, I am a MTF beauty and I have the support of my wife and that helps. She is my best friend and is willing to do what ever is needed to keep me happy. When we were dating (22 years ago) we made a pack, where we both agreed that even if either one of us could not physically perform sexually. We would remain with each other and love one another. She reminded me of that last week as I was explaining the operation and gauging her response. Her response was very sweet to my ears and I am looking forward to this journey. I have not felt so good in years.

I joined this site for several reasons, one is the support that everyone gives to each other. It might sound like I am doing fine, and for now, I am.

However, I am still a mess inside and I have 47 years of crap to resolve and I am hoping support from others who know what I am going through will help me complete my journey.

Chloe,

Sounds like a great first step. The fact that you seem to see this as a process that will take time rather than a single event or decision will do you well. I love seeing my own therapist as well and in talking to others I feel pretty fortunate about that.

47 years of "crap to resolve" does indeed take a long time. I'm dealing with a few less years of it than you and I'm still surprised how much more I have left. Hang in there!

Oh Cloe!!

That is so wonderful to hear that you are seeing a gender therapist!!! I am sure things are really going to start falling into place for you. Having the support of your wife is also just great.
Sweetie, you and I are about the same age (I'm 48). You have taken a very important step in your journey. I wish you all of the success in the world.

You are going to be just fine sweetheart.

Love

Welcome girl, and congratulations!!

I am fairly new to posting here myself, and had surgery last year at 41.

It is so great about you and your wife.. so very special.

There are a lot of good and helpful folks about and everything is just one day at a time..
