It was a false confession after all, geez...I am surprised! ::)

"Prosecutors abruptly dropped their case against John Mark Karr in the slaying of JonBenet Ramsey, saying DNA tests failed to put him at the crime scene despite his repeated insistence he killed the 6-year-old beauty queen".

I'm actually pleasantly suprised that the media and the talking heads on cable didn't use the word "transsexual" at all to describe him.

Actually, all things considered, the supposed TS connection was underplayed during most of this fiasco, (unless Fox News worked it over, in which case I wouldn't know).   I heard that the Colorado governor has blasted the Boulder DA for moving on this case at all.  But, good grief, this clown is obviously seriously weird, appeared to implicate himself, and is a fugitive from a child porn case in California.  Can you imagine the teeth knashing if he had not been arrested, and had escaped and serious evidence surfaced truely implicating him.  Let's never forget what happened; a horrid murder of a six year old girl.

One good thing though - after all this publicity, this character will probably not work in a school again.

I knew from the begining he did not do it. I could tell in his eyes the first time  they ran the footage.

How much did this episode actually cost???

Experdition from Thailand, expensive flights, all the media coverage...

If they had the DNA evidence (and his did not match that profile), why did they not leave him in a Thai Jail to rot?

Some of his e-mails about young girls in particular, show him to be a possible Pedophile anyway.

I've heard speculation his admission of guilt was to get him out of serving time in prison in Thailand. "Since you know you're going to prison, where would you rather be serving time, here or in Thailand?" Makes sense. As long as his sentence wasn't death he made a good move. Now I'm wondering if the US will send him back? But probably not if he has charges pending here. So overall he did better for himself by claiming guilt in such a famous case. At least he won't be serving time in Thailand.

As for the TS connection, though I haven't been following this very closely, I hadn't heard anything about a TS connection even from those who have been following it. I didn't know about it until I read a comment on a local TG forum just yesterday. For whatever reason it seems the media didn't want to highlight that. Let's see if they do now that he's thrust himself into the limelight.
When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself.

I heard the same thing, that he was trying to get out of serving time in the Thai jail.  I also heard that he said if he was convicted for JonBenet's murder, he would only get a 2nd degree conviction because he confessed.  I don't know if that's true or not.  Patsy's sister was on the news last night saying at least now that he's raised his hand, he's likely to never get another job working with children.  For that I am SO greatful!!  I have known the Ramsey family since 1998 and they have always been nothing less than wonderful people.

Thousands of dollars! But the question should really be:  who is going to pay for all this?  guess who?  us, the tax payers! :icon_no:

I suspect an ulterior motive for the authorities was to get him back on US soil so that they could prosecute him for child pornography in California.
