My name is Pia and I am the Volunteer Coordinator for this years Ohio Lesbian Festival. We will be celebrating our 20th Anniversary on September 19 AND 20th at Frontier Ranch, in Kirkersville Ohio. For women who are interested in volunteering to work at the Festival, I am now assigning slots.
In the past, women who worked a 4 hour shift were given free admittance. This year, because the festival is now a TWO DAY event the volunteer policy has changed. Work shifts will be available in 4 hour shifts or 2 hour shifts (Sunday only) and instead of getting in free you will be given a $40 credit to apply to a ticket.
We still require a $40 deposit (cash, check, or credit card) that is returned upon verified completion of your workshift.
Tickets are available for either the weekend (2 days, includes camping - $65) or a one day pass; Saturday only ($40) or Sunday only ($20)..
If you decide to work a 4 hour shift you can apply your credit to either purchasing a ticket for the weekend (you would pay the difference of $25) or for Saturday only (you would pay the difference of $5).
Two hour shifts are only available for Sunday passes. Work a two hour shift on Sunday and pay nothing to get in.
Because we are now a two day event, some areas such as Food, Childcare, and Facilities will have more shifts available at the beginning and end of the day. We also need volunteers for General Store, Front Gate, and Floater. Shifts are available starting Friday at noon and all day Saturday and much of the day Sunday.
If you are interested in volunteering, please let me know an area you would prefer (or not) and a time frame you would like to work. Shifts are assigned on a first-come basis.
If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact me (pfarr83899@aol.com or 614-403-5061). Feel free to pass this information along to other women who would also be interested in volunteering.
I look forward to working with you,
Pia
Volunteer Coordinator (& Co-Chair)
