So I am now 21 weeks pregnant and my girlfriend and I are living together, planning a spring wedding and happy!  She has already picked out baby names with me.  I have got some books from the library for our other children about having anew baby and about lesbian moms.  My sister is thinking that the baby is going to have a lot of questions when he/she is older but I feel ready to answer them.  If there are questions I don't know how to answer we have a lot of support groups here in town that we can go to.  I guess we are lucky we live in a good place.  We have met other parents who are transitioning and/or have transitioned so maybe there children and our children will feel comfortable chatting together about issues.  I think our biggest issue now is our oldest going into high school and all the teens are trying to figure themselves out so they are really judging of others.  Also I am still upset about my partners ex who makes sure she points out that my partner is NOT a mother every chance she can get, however I feel that my partner is my baby's mother.  We have a lot to be thankful for and are doing fairly well considering all the past problems we have had to overcome.

It sounds like things are going fairly well for you. Good luck on that continuing. As to your partners ex, time will tell so don't let it bother you too much and keep the time spent with em to as little as possible. I'm sure questions will arise from the kids, I think being as honest and straight forward as you can is probably the best idea. Is that what you plan on, or do you have a different idea to use?

I think explaining things to the baby will go like everything else.  I mean they have to learn a lot in this world.  When they are little you use short sentences and easy terms like dogs have puppies people have children and then as the baby grows and learns we will explain things as they come up. 
Our ex's will always be judging of our situation and I know I can not change them or their behaviour but I am trying to find ways to deal with it so I am not so stressed out.
Taking the kids to the park seems to help and in the winter we have wii lol!

You have a couple of years before you have to start explaining anything, not really till they start school and find out that life is different for different people, which is about the best explanation.

So I am now 37 weeks pregnant.  I am excited about having a baby with my partner but not really excited about the breast feeding.  I never enjoyed doing it in the past but I want my baby to have the best start.  Way back in the summer a girl found out that I was trying to get my girlfriend to start pumping and talking to her doctor about her breast feeding the baby.  This girl said my partner had no right to feed the baby.  She was very rude. I would still like my partner to help with the breast feeding but now it is looking like she won't be able to.

oh, a baby! are you having a little girl or a boy? i like babies, but i have never known anyone that was pregnant. i always wanted to hold a nice new baby. what names are you going to call it? i want to have a little girl one day and call her ruby, after my granny, and jane, after jane austen. i like jane austen. her books are hard to read but so good. maybe if i had another little girl, i would call her lizzy, and a boy i would call darcy. why can't your girlfriend feed baby? i think having two mums would be cool. i think it is better to have two mums that love you and listen to you and like you then having a mum and a dad that don't pay much attention to you.
