Um..do we really have to make 15 posts before we are able to upload our pics?  I read that in one of the other topics but I wasn't sure if it was a joke or not.

Melissa

Sorry, it's not a joke. 15 posts is nothing though. :)

Ok...thanks, I can handle that.  The truth is I hate showing my picture anyways so that gives me time to build up the nerve to do it LOL.

See? That's 4 already :)

But no bumping post counts with +1 posts, please. And welcome, Brandi, to Susan's. I think you'll like our community here.

Well I just noticed I'm now eligible to post my pic LOL.  Is there any size requirements or suggestions for sizes? I don't want my face sticking out and scaring people too much.

Um...also what does the "reputation" number mean? I'm just praying mine doesn't get a negative sign in front of it cause I'm pretty sure that would be bad LOL.

One more dumb question...What are the "smite" and "applaud" thingies for?

Melissa HELP!!! LOL You seem to be the resident techie so HELP :P

Reputation is related to smite and applaud. Members can smite or applaud another member for a particular post. The reputation number depends on how many smites or applauds you get. It's kind of a community feedback thing. The only rule about it is no spite-smiting. ie: if someone smites you, take the criticism, look at it and why you got it; don't just smite them back.

Oh....that's kinda cool.  Yikes! Now I really don't want to have a negative number.  Ack...the pressure, it's like being in high school again.  Just kidding...I kinda like the idea.  I can't imagine actually having reason to smite someone though.  This is going wreak havoc on my anxiety issues....now along with worrying about rogue asteroids, nuclear wars and who's knocking on my front door I have to worry about being smited. It may be time to look into another Xanax prescription LOL.  Thanks Dennis...(not for the anxiety but for the answer :) )  I want to give you an applaud for answering that but the anxiety of doing that has me sitting here like a nervous wreck :P

First of all, g ahead and applaud if you are impressed by sombodies posting.  Don't worry about negative numbers.  You're doing fine.  The only people who have gotten negative numbers are people who consistently break the rules.  A good rule of thumb is that more people use the applaud button than the smite button.  I've only got one smite in over 3000 posts and that was because I started getting very cynical.  I had to take a step back and realize how I was being percieved and change that.  I'm fine now though.  As for picture requirements, I just usually look at other people's picture sizes and use that as a guide.  I think it will give you an error if it's too big.

when you create a message, you can insert the url to a website by clicking on the little picture window icon in the editor.

This is on the second row of edit icons and the third from the left.  You'll see somethint like this but the each command will have brackets:

img  /img

Insert the url for the picture between the two tags making sure that the brackets stay in tact for each tag.

You will have to have your picture posted on a website somewhere.

I prefer you not. You can put a very small pic in your signature but if it's abused that will be disabled.
