When we talked about statistical visibility in an earlier 101 article, we were really talking about transsexual people, or people who go through transition — those who seek medical interventions in order to align their physical body with their gender identity.

Although the number of transsexual people is likely to be severely underestimated, there is, at least, a means to make statistical estimates — through the reporting of those medical professionals who work with transsexual people in transition.
