I start school on tuesday. And Im not telling the teacher to call me by name. I don't know what to do. Ive always been made fun of, so I feel like I should just wear my wig and wear girl clothes to avoid harassment rather than just dress in my clothes. I don't know what to do..

God, I can't imagine being out at school when I was young. I think it would've been a great opportunity though. Go with your gut.

You are in high school correct? Where do you live? I know its a little different and social acceptance varies between countries and states.
But overall this is your decision, though I think the sooner you come out and come to terms with yourself and can deal with yourself in society, the better off you are. I wish I wouldn't have hid from everyone as long as I did. Even at school. It just got more difficult for me.

But either way you go I am sure things will be okay in the end. I wish you luck.

I've only been to N.Y. once so I'm not sure what it's like over there. See I'm in Cali and usually finding girls in masculine clothing or men in feminine clothing isn't all too surprising when it happens. From my experience anyhow. But I know no matter where you are there will always be people to ridicule you. There are still idiots in the world no matter what.

i came out at the end of my junior year to my 2 best friends (they were fine with it) and then bought all guy clothes and cut my hair and established myself over the summer then called the principal to set up a meeting before school and she sent out the message that i was to be called as "he" and my chosen name by all of the teachers. and this is all in a small town in kansas!

in NY, i think theyd be even more open to things like that.  is there a way that you can contact your principal or teachers?

The thing with highschool, is that it's full of hormone filled children that would rather be somewhere else.

If they're going to give you a hard time anyway, then you might as well do whatever the hell YOU want. Hell, there's a chance they might even respect you for having the guts to break the mold.

... but they probably won't. You know what that means? A bunch of spotty faced kids you'll never hear from again are being jerks towards you for a year, max. Ooooooooh.... shockhorrorprobe!

High school probably feels like the center of the universe right now. It does for every teenager - essentially your entire social circle comprises of your co-workers! Argh! That's painfully insular!

Chances are you aren't going to see anyone or still be talking to anyone from high school within 3 months of graduation.

And the people telling you that high school was the best years of their life... are leading pretty crappy lives (usually their own doing) or they're full of poo and spearmint .

Teknoir is right.
Everyone I know who was popular and did well in high school are stuck and going nowhere. The outcasts that were different and offbeat are excelling, and or just doing better, plain and simple. ( not that this is true for all people )
But the point is peoples opinions in high school mean squat in the end.

You're only JUST starting school again? Lucky... I started school again on August 19th.

Anyways, to the point. I think you should dress how you like. I don't live in a big city, but people seem to accept masculine dressed girls (I want to say right now, I am NOT calling you a girl, just saying that's how they see it). I just wouldn't do anything to put you out as being trans, i.e. don't have teachers call you a male name (maybe just a neutral or shortened name or initial). That way, at least you can plead ignorance if they ever pin you for it.

Whatever happens, good luck to you. And don't let anyone make you dress in girl's clothes.
