The question of gender in sports and discrimination has re-entered the public consciousness yet again, but this time it is not the usual story of a girls wanting to compete on the wrestling team, or a boy that wants to on the girls volleyball team.  The situation we are examining yet again is one which has far broader implications and is eminently hazier. It is the question of what makes a person a male or female, and whether or not gender anomalies should bar an individual form athletic competition.
