Say if I wanna do a whole set of FFS and the anesthesia ends in 3 hours but they need more time? Will it be possible for them to continue? COS I wanna do all the surgery at once and not do it part by part like some do. So is it possible to do a surgery more than 3 hours and do the whole complete face at once?

I don't think it's even possible to have an entire FFS procedure done in less than 3 hours, depending on what you factor into the "entire" procedure. Most girls I know who have had a large amount of FFS have had at least 10 hours, if not more. As an example, I split mine into two surgeries and they both took between 4-5 hours from what I remember.

Why are you assuming that the the anesthesia will only last 3 hours? They will put you under for however long they need to complete the surgery.

Yeah the three hour number seems kind of arbitrary...I had a tumor removed from my neck, and it took 18 hours. I didn't wake up once...They put you to sleep and then paralyze you, soak you in analgesics and go to work. It's an ongoing process of keeping you under, not a one time shot.

18?  Holy crap.  That's a long time for anesthesia.

Well it was supposed to only be 10, but they got in there and found a bunch more tiny ones and decided to go ahead and get them while they were there. The tumors were over and around my facial nerve and wrapping around toward my neck, so they had to be careful where they cut which slowed things down.

It took a long time to recover.

I'd imagine.  I don't even want to think how much it must suck to shake 18 hrs of propofol.

Dr Ousterhout says beforehand that the surgery lasts at least 10 hours.
It's awfully long, longer still that SRS.
That's why FFS is probably the major surgery an MtF can have.
I can't wait for my turn, next year...  ;D

My FFS/BA lasted about 10 hours and my SRS was about 5 hours.

BTW: It takes less time to do a heart transplant.

We all took a break during the procedure for lunch and went to McDonalds then came back and finished up.  The doctor made me pay though.  *JOKE!!!*

Actually it was **lights out** then **lights on**.
