Does srs hurt really bad? i never knew this but a girlfriend of mine said that it will hurt like hell for about 3 weeks after.
I can stand pain but i dont know how much.

Iv had hernia operation before and that was just sore but thats nothing like srs.

I'm 5 weeks post-op and yeah it hurts. Not terrible, but it's certainly not comfy either. I also have the added complication of already having had surgery down there to remove a baseball sized infection, so I may be experiencing more pain and a harder recovery than most.

Even so, I wouldn't let that stop me. Beats the hell out of torturing myself with gaffs and such, not to mention the many other benefits of being post-op, IMO. YMMV.

The pain is temporary. The relief is life long.

Nice! I likie and very true. 

I'm 4.5 months postop now. Yes, it hurts, but I found it to be more of an extreme tenderness than an actual pain. It's difficult to find a comfortable position to sit, stand, lie down. But each day gets a little easier, and faster than you would think. Suddenly one day (for me about 8 weeks out) you realize there is no discomfort anymore. And yes, the relief is amazing and instantaneous (at least for me.)

Im just not sure if its as painfull as my friend was making it out too be. The way she was making out was ,taht its worse then giving birth kind of pains.

Strange i know since she never has given birth but i dunno.

Sounds pretty melodramatic, no offense intended. I have children and have watched women in childbirth up close and personal. This is nothing like childbirth.

Well, I've had bad kidney stones, which persons in the medical field have told me is as painful as childbirth. SRS was nowhere near as painful as that!! Seriously!

Well I certainly wouldn't promise anything since everyone has different pain threshold but I had surgery on a Monday morning, was off the pain-killers by Tuesday afternoon, and was out shopping by Friday. I don't honestly remember any pain after the second day although it was a little tender to sit down for maybe a week.

I would imagine the narcotics flow pretty freely if you need them in the case of this operation. I can't see any gp with a heart really questioning your vicodin refill.

Thats what i was wondering. I had a hernia for 20 years which ruptured and the pain from that was well bearable but not good. Morphine helped the pain but after that op
i was in pain for the first 12 hours morphine again helped ease the pain so i could sleep
the next day i was walking around and i was sore for about a month.

It's not a walk in the park, but it's not a kick in the n*tz either (those'll be gone!)

It's uncomfortable, but quite tolerable.

I was laughing so hard when i read this comment, it made my day 

I had a hernia op before as well, it was back about 1 yr ago and i can't really even having alot of pain after surgery.

At Yanhee I had an on-demand morphine drip. I only used it for three days and the last day it was more about wanting to get decent sleep than pain. After that I took pain pills before dilating and that was it. I still usually take Tylenol before dilating only because things are still a bit swelled up and dilation is pretty much like trying to drive a 13 foot high truck under a 10 foot overpass.

I could do without the Tylenol but I choose comfort because I have the option.

mmmmm on demand morphine, come to momma. I admit it, narcotics are a guilty pleasure. Hey don't judge, some people like chocolate some like hydrocodone 

I had morphine for like the first day, I think. Toradol (a smoothe muscle relaxer) was my blessing, as it calmed the bladder convulsions, which were about 90% of my pain. Even that was only given for 2 days, I believe. After that, oral percoset, which I quit after a day I believe. Seriously, it was tender, but really not as awful as one would think... I do have a high pain tolerance, though.

Uggghh, all this talk about SRS is really making me sad that I still have to wait 13 months until I get it done I'd take the pain in a heartbeat if I could have it done now.
