What's Love Got to Do With It? Spouses, Love, and Transition

Before you think I'm going to talk about Ike and Tina, allow me to center your mind around the topic of the love between spouses as one considers transition or is in the midst of one.

I've met a lot of trans men and women in the nearly three years I've traversed the tightrope of transition. I found a strong support structure in many people who, though they had good intentions on remaining caring and unbiased, ultimately sided with me concerning disagreements I had with my own wife. In fact, I believe a vast majority of people rushed to project their own hurts, and at times their own animosity, at my dearly beloved spouse. All because she vehemently disagreed with me at times, and, I believe, didn't understand what I was going through and why I needed to transition.
