I went in for a consultation today and this is what she came up with.

$150 per treatment every 2 months x 5
Free treatment in between so technically its like $75 per session every month.
6th treatment and then is $75.

overall it'll be about $750 saying every hair disappears by the 6th session.
I only have slight hair in moustache and chin (no neck or side burns, i cant grow full beards) Attached is a pic of me with beard and moustache, sry its barely visible.


Does this sound about the right price?

I've had about 14 sessions over two years to remove my beard, and one electro. About a year and a half in i started an increasing dose of spiro, and over a month ago started estrogen. I'm having difficulty growing hair long enough for electrolysis at this point, so I'm hoping things will be over soon. Going to take a lot of tuning up on the sideburns, or keeping a razor handy though. Blah.

if your hair is really fine and light you're going to have limited results from laser. $750 doesn't seem bad for what you're treating I paid $1537 for my package of 7, with 75% off subsequent treatments ($122~ for full face and neck.)

If you only have hair in the goatee, you may consider trying to find a place that does electrolysis and laser both and combine the two. It doesn't sound like you're the best candidate for laser.

From the reports I've seen, $750 is a steal.

$750 isn't really a 'steal', or wasn't when I bought it. My $1530 was for two areas, face AND neck. And at the time they didn't run buy one get one free, or buy one get half off... so it could have been a lot cheaper.

Of my treatments, I paid for around 10 and 4 were the two extras (5+7) or 'touchups' where I got a full treatment instead of just a missed spot (errors by the spa.) I've needed all of them. At this point, I'm having difficulty growing enough hair for electrolysis. Good and bad, I'd like the little blond stubble to grow out so it can die...

The issue with laser is that you keep doing the same amount of treatment and get diminishing results. That's because laser will typically knock out X percent of the hair in a region. You have to go over the entire region in every session, which takes the same amount of work, even as the density of hairs there goes down. At some point, electrolysis is more effective. You probably won't get every last hair using just laser, even if you don't start with that much, and you'll have to finish with electrolysis anyway.

Your skin is a bit dark, but then again so is your hair - so it may work.  As light as your beard is, why not just go for electrolysis and get it all over with ?  It might be pretty quick for you.  The laser price is definitely good by the way.

I agree with Alyssa. I had 8 sessions of laser and it removed quite a lot of my facial hair. But I have still had to go back to electrolysis to get the remaining hairs. If you don't have that much anyways, I'd say go for electrolysis instead since it's definitely permanent.

I was told that they use 2 different machines for laser hair removal. One being for caucasian skin and the other for colored people (which they are going to use on me). I am tan but my hair in the beard region is jet black. I also told her about the concern of regrowth and the effectiveness of laser compared to electrolysis and she said that it is not true that hair laser is not permanent. She said that this is because many places uses the wrong laser power or machine on people. I will ask for a quote for electrolysis and will let you ladies know thank you again for all your help.

It's never a bad idea to ask for test spots.  You may have to pay a minimal fee, but it will give you an idea of what to expect. 

Echoing the other ladies' sentiments here:

With what little you have, you'd probably best be served with only electrolysis.

We got our Laser Hair removal for $210 per session, 6 sessions paid. Then two years of followups free to get the stubborn hairs. That's 1260 for possibly 22 sessions max(though unlikely will take that long).

If you're patient, waiting for a deal like that might be a good way to go. I think you were talking about a cheaper amount but if you don't get everything treated in the number of sessions they were offering, you may end up paying more in the long run.

We just thought we'd throw out what it cost us and how many potential session that would include to help others in their search.

If you don't have that much hair you could always take the safe route of electro.

Laser didn't do too much for me, but there have been a lot of positive stories about it as well.  Just figured since if you don't have that much hair then the pain will be minimal and same with the time and sessions for electro.  And it's sorta guaranteed permanent.
