A San Francisco program that helps transgender Latinas with HIV prevention and other services is looking for new funding since the city contract that provided most of its money has been awarded to another agency.

The El-LaTransgender Latina HIV Prevention Program has provided HIV prevention services to transgender Latinas in the Mission District since 2006. The city is now allocating that funding to Instituto Familiar de la Raza Inc., which translates roughly to Latino Family Institute. The institute works with transgender Latinas and others to promote and enhance well-being.
